I've read the need to finish work is usually around 28-30 weeks with twins. This seems so soon (am currently 21 weeks). When did you start maternity leave? TIA

36 weeks for me, with the caveat I was working in the same building where I gave birth and DH drove, I couldn't have gotten behind the wheel. The timing was right for me, I don't think I could have managed another week.

30 weeks. Physical job with very long hours. My babies arrived 4 weeks later.

32 weeks for me. Couldn't have done much longer as my job involves me being on my feet all day.

Was due to finish at 32 weeks but ended up getting signed off at 25 as had massive pelvic issues (don't think twin related just unfortunate) and I physically couldn't do the commute any more.

Depends how physical your job is, how you get there really. I couldn't drive past about 28 weeks as couldn't lean forward enough to turn corners etc.

Oh, and they arrived at 31 weeks anyway!

Thanks all. I have a desk job and only work four days but already the 90 minute commute there and back is getting hard. I also drive to and from my sons nursery every day and guess that will become difficult soon. It's just so hard to predict how I'll be feeling/how large I will be in a couple more months. I've been told to expect to be induced around 36/37 weeks, so I guess 30 weeks if I can manage it might make sense. Thanks so much.

36 weeks for me, with a 2 hour commute each way (I must be mad!). I worked from home one day a week for the last few weeks though, an it helped that DH worked in the same city, so I reckoned we could meet at a London hospital if I went into labour at work.

I had a planned section at 38+1 and leaving at 36 weeks was the right time for me. I had a fairly stress free pregnancy (except for the sheer bulk) and wasn't worried about where I went into labour.

Annual leave at 29+2 and the mat leave from 30+5. I was feeling quite unwell towards the end. It turned out pre-eclampsia was creeping up on me. Delivered by EMCS when pre-eclampsia rapidly escalated to severe. I was 34+6.

35 for me. Could have gone a bit longer but I had annual leave to take or I'd have lost it. I was driving up to the end - everyone's different.
