Advice: present for twins?

Hi everyone, I hope it's okay that I am posting this here but wanted to ask opinions.

My cousin is expecting her twins late April early May and I want to send her presents for them. I am sending them each a lovely comforter and I also want to include a cute little summer outfit. Very hot and long summers where cousin lives. She is not in the uk so I won't be able to see her or the twins for some time and I want to make sure she gets to use the outfits in the summer. Normally I would buy size 3-6 for wearing July-September time so about 3/4 months after births. It's what I did with her first and what I did for my own dd and for most babies I have bought presents for and it worked fine.

But I know twins can be a bit smaller so basically what I am asking is in your experience, what size clothing were your twins wearing 3/4 month after birth?

Thank you for your help,

My girls were 5lb4 & 5ll8 at birth and were wearning Next up to one month sleppsuits at 3 & 4 months. 0-3 sleepsuits were baggy on them but I still put them on.

I would go for Next 0-3 as their clothing is slightly on the bigger size. Or Gap 3-6 as their clothes are on the smaller size.

Brilliant Neversleepagain I was actually looking at Next so that is really helpful, will probably go for 0-3.

Thanks

I might actually go for the Gap 3-6, just because as a new mother she'll probably have/receive loads of 0-3 stuff and it's nice to have an outfit or two to grow into! Mine were 5,11 and 6,2, and they were wearing the Gap 3-6 month size right at 3 months. If you get a 0-3 size when they're already 3-4 months, I worry that your friend won't get much use out of your gift!

Oh okay Linguaphile will loo into that too. Can probably wait to send until I know how big they are at birth, might give me an idea. My cousin is absolutely tiny but her first ds was born nearly 9lbs so no indication there really.

Thanks guys though, it does help to hear from you about what your los were wearing at that age.

So funny how different they all are. Mine were 5lb5 and 7lb13 and neither was in to 3-6 months (from Next or Gap) until they were 4 months and even then it was enormous on them (especially the smaller one!). They're nearly 7 months now and still in 3-6. I'd get 3-6, with summer stuff it can be a bit big.

Mine were prem and just over 4lb each. By 3 months they were only just in 0-3 clothes.
Twins are usually small because the tend come a bit earlier, so you should have an Indra in a few weeks time.

Yes I would say 0-3 months as well.

I have no idea about twins but just thought I'd point out that h&m do 2-4 month clothes do that could be a compromise?

Great, thanks everyone, I think I will go for 0-3 but may wait to know their birth weight before making final decision. May have a quick look into H&M too, to compare size.

Hi there, think waiting is a good idea. Mine were 5lb8 and 6lb3 so only a month behind the growth curve anyway. Echo what someone said above about nice to have bigger clothes to grow into as you get A LOT of newborn stuff.

JoJoMamanBebe have some super cute summer clothes fyi and they quite often do multibuys so a fiver off if you buy two.
