Hello all.

My beautiful boys were born this morning by elcs at 32 weeks.

Arthur Maxwell - our donor twin - weighed 3lbs 11oz.
Oscar Harrison - recipient twin - weighed 4lbs 3oz.

Both are doing very well, Artie was on cpap but now just air. Haven't been able to see them much yet but hoping to have a cuddle tomorrow.
Its been such an emotional roller coaster all the way through the pregnancy. We still have a little way to go yet but almost there. I'm in absolute agony as they gave me loads of meds to get my tired uterus to contract back at double speed, must admit these after pains are nasty, having to keep well topped up with pain killers which help to an extent but not amazingly!

Anyway, to all those who have gone through the ttts, i know you will join me in celebrating such a successful outcome.
I would also highly recommend the ttts UK support group on Facebook,

The group is great if any ttts mums are on there already, if not i would recommend joining, they have been amazing, even if your twinnies are older anyone who has experienced the turmoil of ttts can join x

I know nothing about your journey, and am just about to go to bed, but many, many congratulations on the birth of your twins.

Fantastic news Rowan! I just logged on to see how you were all doing - so thrilled for you all! And great weight too,my girls were dinky in comparison at 34 weeks.lovely names!

Delighted you can put the trauma of the past few weeks behind you and look forward to life with your lovely boys!!

Hope nicu runs as smoothly as possible and that the boys go from strength to strength as quickly as possible!

A year and a half on I'm still wobbly about all this and ready eyed with relief for you!!!

Keep us posted on how the boys are doing xxxxxx

Oh wow Rowan, CONGRATULATIONS!!! Welcome to the world Arthur and Oscar, brilliant news - I've got goosebumps now.

I hope you get to see them as soon as possible and you get them home soon. Keep taking your painkillers and get lots of rest.

If you have any questions about SCBU / NICU do ask - I'll try and remember! One thing, if you want to try breastfeeding you need to start pumping asap - your hospital should have a pump you can borrow.

xxx

Yay Rowan, I remember you from earlier posts (have named changed, was Holidays) can't believe your lovely babies are now here and safe whilst I lie here on the sofa still in the company of my big bump. Sounds like you have been through a horrible experience but thankfully all came good in the end. If its any reassurance I had terrible after pains with my second dc, apparently it gets worse with the number of babies a woman has. Good luck for the next few weeks and congratulations! X

Rowan,

Many many congratulations, I am thrilled for you!

My TTTTS survivors were delivered at 34+1 and are now 20month old brilliant girls! Taller than average, strong, giggly, feisty and a total mischievous delight!

I'm so sorry I missed your previous threads, but you will have had wonderful support from Twinnies and Silverangel who were my thread buddies back then!

Rowan, please do keep us updated - I know you will be busy like a whirlwind, but its great to hear how things go

Sorry, I totally missed this but was wondering if they had been born yet!! Many congratulations! I'm now 23 weeks, all ticking along ok. Can't wait to be in your situation and have them safely in my arms (though so far no TTTS stresses, risks or treatment to cope with).
Wishing you all the very best.

Hi Rowan1234

Sorry to have missed this announcement. Many congratulations on the birth of your twin boys. Great names! Hope they're both doing well after what sounds like a really tough pregnancy.

We "met" a few months ago when we realised we were having twins at the same time. I'm now 36 weeks with my twins (have two sons already, so the prospect of looking after 4 under 5 is still very daunting!) and having scan today to make birth plan.

Anyway, enjoy your little boys

Hi all,
Thanks for your kind messages.
So my boys were 5 weeks old on monday and we all came home when they were 2 weeks snd 2 days old. They did astoundingly well.
They are gaining weight nicely and generally very we behaved, but those who have other dc will also know that this is really the easy bit (all be it tiring!) but they pretty much just sleep for 20 hours a day and only wake for feeds, changes and cuddles!
Finding it all ok so far. (touch wood) im sure i will hit that wall in a few week's though!
Just looking forward to really finding a good routine and settling in to it, at the moment its a bit like it all somehow 'slots' together amongst the madness, haha.
I will be coming back soon to pester many of you for advice...!
