Multiple births

That thread deletion has really shocked me.

The one with the faux triplet mum. What is wrong with some people?

what happened? Someone pretended to have triplets?

How on earth could mnhq know they didn't?

What confuses me is that they have let all her other posts stand. If she was a troll she was very convincing - posted consistent stories in baby names, ante and post natal clubs as well as non-triplet related threads. None of her posts have been deleted.

I didn't see the deletion but I have a feeling I know the poster you mean. All the triplet posts sounded very flimsy .

I also reported that thread. If you looked carefully at her dates, then it didn't add up at all. The average triplet pregnancy lasts for 34 weeks yet she claimed to be booked for a c-section at least 39 weeks but thought they might come "a week or two earlier".

I only noticed this because I am booked in for a twin delivery (at 37 weeks) a week after that poster said she was booked in -and she was supposed to be a month more pregnant than I am!

Then when I saw that one of the 30 week triplets had spent one day in special care and is discharged as "fine" and that the others could be home in just two weeks.. Surely that is unlikely?

DigestivesWithCheese · 31/10/2012 21:39

Also - if you look at the post from about a week before the triplets were born, the OP was saying that that she was expecting "hands full" comments from people when she told them she was having triplets & that her mum would probably faint with shock.. Hmmm, at that stage you may have expected the pregnancy to be fairly obvious to most people, surely?!

Although, she did have photos of twin babies on her page so that bit must be true. Feeling rather confused now Hmm

I think it's terribly sad. But it also shows that there are sad and deluded people out there who want attention. There was a regular troll that popped up on the Childbirth board getting v upset about wanting a CS rather than vb but would eventually admit she wasn't pregnant or in a relationship. And posted the same posts on Canadian sites as well.
There are some very confused people who are lining a virtual life not a real one.

Digestives, how do you know that was her photo and she hasn't just stolen it?

I wouldn't bet on the twins photo been real. People on here have been known in the past to pinch photos off the Internet and put them on their profile.

Is it inflation? Loopy tragedy trolls used to stick to premature twins; I imagine having premature triplets (born with three eyes and no feet or whatever. While her husband was shagging the family dog.) is just going one better.

I did consider that the twins photo might be taken from somewhere but then I thought that would just be TOO weird Sad

Especially I was looking at the photos (lovely photos) and wondering if my twins will look like that! And I was wondering how the OP was getting on, thinking that it must have been such a shock to find out about the triplets. It's made me feel a bit weird really!

It was a ridiculous thread. I reported it but missed the end when it was deleted. I of course got a panning for daring to say it, but it really pisses me off when people post such utter tripe. If you are gong to make up bull-shit, at least get the bare essentials accurate.

It's very sad. Some people are desperate to be a parent and have fantasies.

I've just noticed that thread had gone. I always fall for them too, although the dates on this one didn't add up at all. It is very difficult sometimes to know whether you are going to offend a legitimate poster or out a troll. I have no idea why they are so drawn to fantasise about multiple birth - it is something I wouldn't care to repeat Grin.

Digestives, you can look at my twin photos if you wish - I promise you they are real - currently asleep upstairs thankfully!

Solid gold Grin @ inflation.

I wonder if this thread will be deleted but I saw the cancer one and was a bit Hmm about triplet mum but chose to believe her. The thing is when the storeis are so sad it's hard to say if you don't believe it in case it's true and end up looking a really cow. I even posted on triplet mum's thread. Has the op been banned then?

What is it with multiples? I'm in another site as well, ( not the Huns) it regularly got a nut posting photos of her multiples, their bedrooms, names etc, etc.
she would come looking for advice then say her mother had two sets of twins, Aunty had triplets, multiple Multiples.

I think a lot of it must be longing for a different life, obsession or some sort of mental instability.

My stbx stated on asite she had twins. She's a compulsive liar and has made all sorts of other things up.

It is about wanting attention (with her at least). She's still doing too. Happy days!

How odd as I did a search on the triplet mum in the night when I was up with DD. Asking about buggys for twins and triplets but with some other threads interspersed to make it look genuine. Bonkers.

I missed this one - what was it, prem triplets ?

Bagpuss - I looked at your twins photos - they are gorgeous and I'm sure that they are the ones I looked at before!! So either I mixed you and the 'mum to twins, pregnant with triplets' up & it was actually your photos I remembered looking at the first time (quite possible as I am slightly tired and confused these days!) or... she had your twins photos attached to her profile!! Confused

Blimey Digestives, I do hope she didn't! She was supposed to have twin boys so would have been quite hard to nick mine I think.

Oh, and thanks Grin. The pictures are very old now as the dts have just celebrated their third birthday but they still make me smile to look at and remember how little they once were!
