Baby swings... How long for?!

Hi, like most twin mums I am sure, the baby swing is an essential bit of kit but.... How long is it safe for them to be in there if they fall asleep? Today ds had been asleep for ages plus had been in a carseat as well for an hour or so and I felt it was wrong for him to stay in the swing so i took him out but cue waking up and screaming......
Thanks
Lala

It's not good for their spines to be out of the lie-flat position for too long. But I don't know how long 'too long' is....
I used to let mine nap in theirs & I'd use it to calm my boy in the first few months...

i cant remember i vaguely seem to remember something about first tage carseats (and swing seats are a bit like this) shouldnt be in them for longer than 3hrs at a time, ideally much less than this? but i dont remember where i read that? Confused

i had a simg for ds3, it was given to me and it was great so i could have a shower and cook dinner etc. the seat in ours actually laid back, so not flat but it wasnt bucket shaped like a carseat either, so i guess it will depend on the sort of seat it is and the age, size of your baby, i wouldnt want to leavea tiny baby in for very long but a bigger baby? plus they will tell you if they want out. i tend to feel you should leave sleeping babies to lie!

I wouldn't worry too much if its only every now and then, my 2 woke for a feed every 2-3 hours in the day anyway so they would not be in them for long.
I think it's all about balance and if they do spend a few ours of one day in one, as long as they have an opportunity to have a wiggle on a play mat later on then they will be ok.
I also leave sleeping babies.
How old are your 2 ?
