Im 40 years old,ten year old daughter.Tried to get preg for past couple of years.Managed to conceive last month, felt really tired and classic lower back ache and cramps but put that down to flu and Im recovering from M.E.so dont always feel great.Did positive test on tue then that eve had massive bleed, big clots[sorry graffic]for 10 mins,no more bleeding until similar thing happened last night.I assumed I had miscarried so Im surprised Im still exhausted and when I stand up or do anything Im still cramping[not easy with an energetic daughter on holiday]and no bleeding between the two big bleeds.I guess my question is has anyone had anything similar.X

Sorry to hear this. I've had two miscarriages and I would advice you to see a doctor today. You need to know exactly what is going on to rule out complications such as an ectopic pregnancy. The exhaustion could be down to heavy blood loss but you do need to see a doctor.

Thanks, spoke to dr yesterday who made app for tue to check hormone levels, sort of ruled out ectopic as think pain would be more intense but obviously will see how that goes.

Is there anyone who can help out with your daughter? You need to rest and look after yourself. I still think it is best that you see a doctor, but it's up to you, if you are happy with the advice your doctor has already given you.

Definitely take it easy and get properly checked out on Tuesday to rule out ectopic (you're right - prob would be more pain, but must rule it out anyway to be safe). If it's any consolation YES I have had something similar - I've been in exactly the same boat - on Thursday I miscarried at 5/6 weeks. Due to just one hour of crippling pain (reminded me briefly of labour!) I was sent off to hospital and tested and scanned and prodded and pricked etc etc to check whether ectopic. It wasn't - or if it was it's all gone and miscarried now anyway. I didn't bleed much in the first couple of days either but it's picked up now - also massively exhausted and dizzy with cramps. So hopefully you won't have any complications either. Take care and be gentle with yourself (as much as your daughter will let you - my toddler has been bouncing on my tender stomach - love him!).x

Fingers tightly tightly tightly crossed for you. So hope it's all fine. Wishing the next two weeks away for you too - what a wait. I have 2 good friends and my sister-in-law who all had several quite major bleeds during their pregnancies : all three of those babies (incl. my neice born this month) were carried full term and are as healthy as can be. Absolutely horrible to go through though. Just you take care of yourself and let's hope. xxx PS I am now stupidly obsessing on when to TTC - hence roaming around like a maniac on mumsnet!
