Miscarriage/pregnancy loss

Bleeding at 9 weeks - end of the road?

Apologies in advance for tmi.

I'm 9 weeks pregnant (10 weeks tomorrow). I started some minor spotting yesterday and it was still minor and dark brown this morning with no cramps. I rang the midwife who said come back to her if it changes.

But this afternoon it's changed to red blood. Still not massive but if feels like a light period. I've passed some small clots and have a mild stomach ache (just like a period pain starting).

Obviously I'm fearing the worse but just wondered if anyone had gone through this with a positive outcome.

My midwife is out tomorrow so I'm planning to try and contact an early pregnancy unit.

Any advice really appreciated. I'm 40 and this is my first pregnancy and feeling very lost. Thanks

I'm sorry, I don't have any answers for you but didn't want your post to go unanswered.

I do think that you should definitely contact the EPAU as they should be able to confirm at 10 weeks what's going on.

Hopefully someone will be along soon with a positive story. Will be keeping my fingers crossed for you.

I had bleeding and big clots at 9wks with my 1st pg and have dd now 3.5yrs. So you could be fine. Try to contact either the EPAU (early pg assessment unit) or if you can't do that directly maybe your gp or our of hours dr could contact them as your midwife is out tomorrow. I am pg too so I know exactly how you feel. Hope it all works out ok for you.

Thanks - so nice to read some kind messages.

I've found my nearest EPAU so will give them a call tomorrow and try and get in. Just hate this rollercoaster so much.

quirkychick - hope you don't mind me asking, but did you have any cramping or pain when you bled?
