Miscarriage/pregnancy loss

Loss of fluid around baby and bleeding - anyone experienced this?

Hi there. I'm 14 weeks pregnant today (1st time) and had heavy bleeding at the weekend. A scan revealed beating heart and moving baby but could see I'd had bleeding.

Still not happy so went back yesterday. Scan revealed more info- I have a clot at the top of the womb (they're not worried about that) and I've lost a lot of the fluid that surrounds the baby (which isn't good).

I have another scan with expert next week so have to wait over a week to see:

  • has more fluid been produced - if so that's good
  • have i had a MC in the meantime
  • has the heartbeat stopped

Feels like a long old week and i'm 36 on thursday - some birthday.

Just wondered if anyone else has experienced / come across this to offer any advice. Thanks.

Not had any experience of fluid loss as you describe but I have had two miscarriages, both missed miscarriages diagnosed at scans so I know the awful uncertainty you're feeling. Got everything crossed for you.xx

Just to let you know that I decided to go for another scan yesterday and it revealed that there was no heartbeat . They did say this could happen.

I had to go in immediately for emergency surgery given that I was 14 weeks pregnant.

I've come out of hospital today (on my birthday) and everything went ok thankfully.

Feeling pants today but in a way feel comforted that I'm not alone to go through this. Reading everyone's comments is heart warming.

The only consolation is that I had a runny egg today and am out to get some brie too.
xx

So sorry that it didn't work out. It's a devastating experience, I know.

Give yourself plenty of time. It seems like the end of the world right now. You will smile again xx
