How common is infection after miscarriage?

I am 9days post miscarriage. I thought the bleeding had stopped yesterday and DH and I ended up having sex- (which mentally we needed more than anything and phsyically I felt okay) we didn't use a condom. Anyhow today I feel a bit achy in the womb area and just a little bit worried about infection. The blimming bleeding started up again that evening but it is very light and brownish, but also there was a brown clot (20p size) when I thought all of them had gone.

Just wondering how common infection after miscarriage is? I mean people have sex during/just after a period and its fine. I suppose a miscarriage is much more traumatic on the womb so hence the risk but although miscarriage is sadly common not sure how common infection after miscarriage is. Don't get me wrong am not replacing medical advice with mumsnet- I will head to the docs if it gets worse or am still worried but just wondered what MNetters experiences were.

I wouldn't worry just yet.
Sorry if this is TMI but sometimes when I think my period has finished DH and I bd and the next day I get a bit more bleeding... it sounds like a similar kind of thing. My dh and I also didn't bd for about 4 weeks over the time of our mc and it was then a bit painful in the same way you've described when we did...
I guess having sex and the semen just 'disrupts' everything again, for want of a better way of putting it!
