Frist of all, I'm so sorry to hear about everyone's losses. As another poster wrote recently on this board, I am so sad that I find myself reading the threads on this board and now posting a question. But of course none of us want to be in this awful situation.

I had a miscarriage last Tuesday. It was a bit of a shock, stood up to get out of the bath and was stunned to see a huge clot at the bottom of the bath. I couldn't believe my eyes at first. Hadn't had any bleeding though had ongoing stomach cramps for a couple of weeks. Didn't know what to do so flushed the clot down the toilet. By saturday the bleeding was heavy and I had very bad stomach pains so went to A&E. They arranged for me to have a scan yesterday. The sonogrpaher couldn't find any evidence of "remains" so I assumed that I should have stopped bleeding by now, but I haven't and my stomach is still sore. DH and I want to get on with trying for another even though I know you're meant to wait until you've had a first period, but to be honest I don't think I can wait. But until this bleeding stops...

I'm so sorry for your loss engelbart.

When I miscarried at that stage, the bleeding went on for 2 weeks.

You shouldn't have sex until the bleeding stops, but theres no reason why you shouldn't ttc again as soon as it stops

Very sorry to read of your loss. My mc took just over 2 weeks to complete - the last couple of days were just spotting. Lost mine at 9 weeks although it was mmc so pregnancy stopped at 6 weeks.

if you need support, head for the Emmsy's thread - unfortunately there are a fair number of us in similar circumstances

If the bleeding doesn't start to get lighter or doesn't stop after 2-3 weeks, you should go and get checked out...

I am still bleeding 4 weeks after mmc and I got it checked out on Monday for them to find some remaining tissue. It may be worth contacting your EPU and just getting them to do some checks to be certain.

I bled for 7 weeks following a miscarriage at 9 weeks. It was grim and left me very low/washed out. It was such a relief when it finally stopped as it just reminds you the whole time. Hope you feel better soon.

oh sweet, im so sorry this has happened. its totally devestating. if you havent stopped bleeding by thursday i would call epu. if theres no remaining tissue they should do a blood test just to make sure. unfortunately there are no hard rules. i have had 8 mc's and each was different.

incidently, there is no medical reason to wait one cycle before ttc again. its mainly for dating purposes. however, psychologically it may be wise to wait a month, allow yourself time to grieve and recover.

Hi - i'm new to this board. Just want to share with you that i was 6 week pregnant for the first time and suddenly had pain and started to bleed on saturday and sunday, thought this was normal as they were lighter than my period. Today when I went for scan they could not find anything
