Miscarriage/pregnancy loss

Oh! This is good news, think it needs a mention after the campaign for better facilities that has been on here recently.

Just had my 4th mc (i know, its getting boring now!)

Went up to efau.

Last 3 times i have been there, i have had to walk through the ward were people have just had babies...crying babies at every turn,
Then had to sit in the waiting area with heavily pregnant women, while waiting for the scan that tells me that i sould expect to mc over the next few days.....

BUT today, they have moved the efau to a different area, they take women with probs of up to 20 weeks there, anything above goes to a different dept, and its run by grnae nurses...NOT midwives.
How fab is that!!! I was really relieved when i had to go again.

That is good. During my 1st mc I was told I could leave via a different exit, but they forgot and I left walking past all the pg ladies with there lovely scan pictures. It was a bit crap. Sorry to hear about your mcs

Sorry to hear about your miscarriage but I agree it is really good news that your hospital has improved things. Our early pregnancy unit is very good as well and no upsetting encounters with pregnant bumps. Hang in there, and I do hope things become easier for you soon. x

twice i have had to go into the ante natal clinic with all the pregnant ladies to have emergency scans, 1st time to be told the baby was gone and 2nd to be told there was no heartbeat. how sad for us going through it,and how uncomfortable must it feel for the pregnant women, seeing a heartbroken couple that have just had the most terrible news, it was like taking a walk of shame, with everyone staring at you (me). the epu is right opposite the delivery ward, where you see happy friends and relatives with baloons and gifts. (not that i resent good news of others, just not nice having it rubbed in our faces) hope our hospital relocates our epu.

Our hospital has relocated the EPU, when i had my mmc and mc in 2004 it was right beside the maternity wards, when you were sat for your scan, knowing in your heart it wasnt going to be good news, there were pregnant ladies and their excited DP,s cooing over their scan pictures walking right past you. I had to go this time after another mmc and they have moved the EPU to a completely seperate building away from maternity.
