I've started to miscarry as expected and am bleeding enough to require a pad and (TMI) there's a lot when i wipe with some small clots. I have been keeping busy and active so far mostly as a distration but also in the hope that it will speed things up. It just occured to me that i don't know if thats what i should be doing? Is it ok, physically to carry on as normal? Obviously i will avoid going out until it is over now but around the house how much s it ok for me to be doing??

Thankyou.

Sorry to hear about this. When I had my miscarriage, i ended up in hospital so don't really know what to advise, but I'd suggest you call your GP and ask for advice.

I think it depends on how far along you are in weeks since LMP and how far along you actually are. I MC at 7 weeks since LMP just before Christmas and it was as you describe, like a very heavy period, then watery and lasted about 8 days in total. But in my case the pregnancy may have stopped progressing two weeks earlier, I have no way of knowing.

Some people bleed a lot. If you find you are soaking through a pad more quickly than every hour I think you need medical attention.

Do as much as you feel you can and want to. I carried on regardless and it helped. You may want to lie in bed and that's fine too.

fairywingyou know your body sweetie, I found I got tired very easily and felt quite giddy after doing even basic houseworky stuff. Surely the bodies way of saying ok lady put the mop down. Emotionally its a bit worse, maybe, so I usually end up on the sofa with all the stuff that I have suggested in previous threads.
I dont think being more energetic speeds things up.. all 4 of mine seem to happen in their own time frame regardless of what I have or am doing at the time. Be gentle on yourself and thinking about you.

So sorry for what your going through fairywing. I didn't do much during both of my natural mmcs, but we are all diffrent. I wouldn't suggest going too far from home alone, just in case you get giddy-i know I did! All the posters here have given good advice, it all happens when it happens, if you want to keep active, good on you, if you want to sit watching tv, thats good too. Either way take care of yourself. x
