Hi, i am at the moment having mc no 4.
just dont know what to do with myself.
havent told any one, even went into work yesterday. Treating it like a heavy period. I am only 5 weeks so it does feel like a period tbh. So i can carry on as normal with paracetamol.
Woman at work whipped out her phone and showed me the scan picture of her sister who is 20 weeks....still kept it together and showed enthusiasm for her...she was SO excited.that felt rubbish inside.

Im going to efau on Monday, just to make sure its all gone. Havent told dh about this appointment because he gets reaaly upset, and im hoping to just pop in quickly then get home.

Wasnt going to do anything but i think that if there is another mc documented in my notes, then i am more likely to be referred.
When i said this to the nurse at EFAU she said to me..."referred to who?" in a surprised voice! "i dont know" says i, who deals with such things, is it obs & gynae or is there some one special that deals with these things?
As far as i am aware, there is no reoccurant mc clinic around here, and there is certainly no one who specialises.
I will have to start asking them about it.

So, once again nothing.
My questions are:
How do find out where the nearest mc clinic is?
Do you need to be referred by GP or hospital?
What test do they do?
Do they take old ladies like me at 38?
Thanks

Hi Deany, so sorry this is happening to you. I had 2 x mc in 2007 and they said usually they will refer you after you have had 3. What has been said after your previous mc?
A friend of mine had 3 mc and then had some simple blood tests done. Her reason turned out to be lupus which is a very common one, (and easily solved through daily injections - she has since had a ds)
You could contact the miscarriage association for more info www.miscarriageassociation.org.uk/
Please rest up and take care of yourself - even at 5 weeks it is still crushing news.
