hi there, my period came exactly a month after the ERPC. like you it was my second miscarriage and also keen to try again but very fearful of third bad experience. we were advised to leave it till after two periods but in fact we tried - not very hard - this month, so after one period only. i'm not very optimistic that it will have worked because we were a bit half hearted. after what feels like weeks and weeks of being pregnant all for it to come to nothing i've certainly got mixed feelings about going through the whole process again.

Hi there, my first period after ERPC end of September took 6 weeks to show up and was fairly heavy for me but not too bad. We started trying straight away. The consultant who did the ERPC told me that it was fine to try straight away although some people prefer to wait until first period to be more sure of dates. Everyone is different so may be you have had a period, even though it was so light. I hardly had any bleeding after the ERPC while some people have loads. Still TTC and hoping to get lucky this month. Good Luck

My midwife said that a mc is is the body's way of having a clear out. Making way for the proper pregnancy.
Good luck to all trying after mcs, it worked for me

lalatele - have you been trying again - could it be implantation bleeding? dates would fit? Could also be the start of your period. I had erpc after nasty situation at about same time as you and am still waiting for period.

My erpc was the day after yours, and I started bleeding yesterday too. However mine was (and still is) pretty much like normal blood rather than like a normal period, but it's pretty heavy too.

We started trying as soon as my bleeding stopped, but that took just over two weeks so I'm pretty sure this is a period. Had noticeable PMT for the first time at the weekend Fingers crossed yours is implantation!

Hi! Had my 5th m/c in October. Period came exactly 28 days after ERPC - heavier than normal and all have been heavier since then. I've always felt it's best to give your body a chance to get back to normal after a m/c before trying again. I'm trying again now!

hi all! it's me again...i have had intercourse a few days ago but it was protected so no chance of me being pregnant...however, i don't need any sanitary towel but when i wipe, there is like blood with mucous, like last days of period...should i worry? (blood is dark) it feels funny...

I'm really not sure lalatele. Go with what you feel.

I almost phoned the GP today because since my period started I've had really nasty pains to my left side, especially severe when I'm emptying my bladder. I thought it was probably trapped wind or constipation, but it's been a few days now and although the pain is abating it's still around. It's like the bowel pain you get after a c-section (or erpc too in my case) but in a different place. I've had BFNs so not ectopic, but wondering if it's possible to get adhesions or other weird stuff after erpcs?

Lalatele, yes I had the baby, she is now 20 months
I had a nasty infection after my erpc. 5 days later, very heavy bleeding and huge clots. Continuous for 4 hours - nearly called an ambulance. Bleeding eased so I went to the walk in centre and was put on antibiotics. Anyone else had that?
lalatele - could the mucous be following intercourse??

A scan is a good idea, don't know why I didn't think of that. It is possible you need a little op, day surgery. Like an old D and C but they call it ERPC now.
Don't worry, I hope the scan eases your mind. I'd be interested to know how you get on.
Good luck x

I had regular periods after my erpc, 10 weeks is a long time. I wonder if it's worth seeing a doctor, maybe ask for a scan to see if everything is ok.
Have you done a pregnancy test?

Is there a possibility you're pg?

If not, and I'm a bit hesitant to say this, but it's worth keeping an eye out for your next period. It is possible (though rare) for an erpc to damage your uterus and scar tissue/adhesions form inside. It's called ashermans syndrome. The main symptom is light/short periods (or even no periods). You still ovulate, but the endometrium is thin and damaged so there is less blood to lose - hence lighter periods. If your next one is like this it's worth seeing your GP and being referred. It is treatable.

I'll watch this thread, so if you have any questions let me know.

Hey, I must say that i had 2 procedures done after my miscarriage because they left some stuff inside. It was very Depressing and painful and to top it of i had to actually wait for 3 months for an actual period to come down. I had lost faith, but the same day i went to my obgyn my period just came and it lasted like 5 days. It was very light with a little cramping. Now my problem is that this 4 month NO SIGNS OF A PERIOD... has this happens to any of you ladys???
