Had a m/c a couple of weeks ago, just wanted to ask if the pregnancy test still says postive, can you still ovalate.

Or so you have to wait for a negative test.

Thanks

Sorry to hear that Arena

I'm no expert, but I would guess that your normal reproductive cycle will not be triggered whilst your body still thinks you are pregnant.

My mc was only last week and I was told to expect a period in 4 - 7 weeks.

Thanks jools1, i dont's know why but i don't want to wait for my next period, i have'nt done a pregnancy test yet, but i know it's still gonna show a postive as i still have sore boobs.

Went for another scan this morning to make sure everything had passed, and it did. Maybe i should test.

Im sorry to hear about your m/c to.

Arena - I've decided to try again asap aswell, so won't wait for AF - just want the mc bleeding to stop now so I can move on.

I think I was lucky - boobs stopped hurting on Monday, mc'ed very suddenly with lots and lots of blood on Tuesday and was scanned on Thurs - only a teeny bit of lining was left and they tested a wee sample and said the hormone levels were very low

hi arena, sorry to hear about your MC. i know from experience that after you have lost a pregnancy you will still have pg hormones in your body and they can cause the test to be positive. your gp should be doing bloods to check your hormone level is back down to normal.

Hi SuziBhoy they did'nt offer me no blood test to check hormone, so im gonna get a few cheap pregnancy test from ebay and keep checking maybe every 4 days.

I had a m/c at begining of april, I was 6 weeks gone. 6 weeks later, I still felt odd so did a test which was positive, was scanned to check what was happening and was told I was 6 weeks pregnant, so I had fallen pregnant again straight away. I have heard that due to hormone levels, it's not uncommon to get preg again quickly.

That is really good news littleboyblue, i hope the same thing happens to be, good luck.

I miscarried last week, but was still testing positive on Friday. When I rang the EPU they said that yuo can test positive for 2 weeks after m/c and that if I still had a positive test in 2 weeks I should ring them for a scan. Which I know doesn't answer your question, but if I were you I'd rign EPU or GP just to see whether you should be scanned to make sure all is as it should be

I have miscarried twice now, at around 8-9 weeks. Both times I got +ve tests up until I next bled (i.e. my next period in about 20-25ish days time).
This time round i was watching for fertile signs, like my cm, but there was no sign of fertility.
There are lots of tales of women getting pg that first cycle, but I think it is also not unusual to have an anovulatory cycle for that first cycle post mc (I am 95% certain I did). You don't know how you are going to be, but having sex is the only thing you can do to make yourself pregnant, so you may as well give it a whirl.

Taking the cheap tests might be a good idea anyway so if you make sure it goes negative then any positive you see after that would be a happy bfp rather than just left over hormones.
