Good morning, it's nice in here. As for being recognised I was being wound up!!!So I needn't have changed my name, but I will keep this one, cos the other one really did give every thing away.
Quite tired this morning as dh wanted me to stay up and watch a scary film with him. I never watch scary films I'm too much of a scardy cat, but I watched it and wished I hadn't.
Hope you are all ok and enjoying Sunday morning lie ins.xxx

Have we found a nice cave to move into yet?

Report
VJay · 09/11/2008 09:39

It's all about me this morning, I was thinking I want to ttc next month, I so want to be pg again, but dh wants to wait until after Christmas, which is what we had agreed in the first place. Anyway, I have been looking at all the festive food in the shops, I suppose I can at least enjoy pate, stilton and wine instead...I'm trying to convince myself here to stay off one wagon and go on another.
Is nobody up yet???

Hello everyone! Great new thread barbie, feels every bit as welcoming as the last one, thank you!

VJay, which film was it? I once caught part of a stomach-turning one about vampires, which haunted me for many nights. Could never trace it again though - not one of the mainstream ones - it had music by Schumann in the score and it's ruined that particular piece for me forever!
Oh VJay, I totally understand your wanting to be pg again straight away. I had to wrestle with myself this month too - we'd decided to take a month out and it took every ounce of my willpower not to break the pact. But now AF will be here in a week and then, I tell you...

Right, must give the house a cleaning, squeeze in a swim and then have work to do! Have a lovely Sunday everyone!

Morning everyone! Just got up (finally!) but had ben lieing in bed chatting to a friend who rang from Oz for a chat as I'd emailed her to tell her my sad news. She had a MC shortly before my 1st on in June and was 11 wks. It was great to be able to explain to her that she'd had an MMC as she didn'g know that and I only do because of being on here. So thx from me and from my buddy too! .

Brownies went down a treat BTW! Kept a few and they are awesome (if I say so myself!). I made them from the Rachel Allen book 'My Favourite Foods' - she's fab!

Can't remember who (in last thread!) said they will tell the world when nxt pg and had never considered but it makes sense. Not sure if I would be brave enough. Totally understand where that's coming from tho.

We watched 'The Orphanage' last night while babysitting. It was good (I like scary films) but not scary enough for me - especially as it was punctuated by various calls from the children we were babysitting so I was up and down the stairs while film was paused constantly. Kind of takes away from the effects!

Not sure if I am feeling better today yet - can't be as bad as yesterday tho - I hope not!

How is everyone else today?

Morning everyone,

Look at us all on a new thread! Sending our new thread some lovely, positive, happy vibes. I have given myself a virtual slap in the last few days as keep just getting so low. So here's to getting back to normal, and trying again (successfully).
Cheers everyone.

(Sausage puts microphone down and steps off podium.)

Have a good day!

I'm cooking up a feast! My latest thought is healthy body healthy new baby. Sadly this doesn't mean dieting for me - I am trying to eat more! The miscarriage and weekes since made my appetite dissapear. (More fruit / veg / healthy stuff!)

What's everyone else up to?

Hello Ladies,

Do you mind if I join? You come highly recommended by VillageMum who I have been on other threads with. I've been lurking here for a few days.

I had a natural (but horrific) post-scan mc on 30th Aug at 8 + 4 weeks (baby died at 6 weeks) and am now in our second month of ttc (I'm in 2WW territory).

Sausage - I think we were on due in April 09 thread together (I was foxymagoo). So sorry to hear you mc too

September was awful, the 'highlight' being a wedding when I should have been 12 weeks and sitting there watching everyone dancing and gadding about and I was dying inside. But time is a great healer and since AF came back properly mid October I feel my body has 'healed' itself and we are concentrating on the future.

I'm also blessed to have a DS (2.5) who has been getting mega cuddles of late!

Anyway just wanted to say

p.s. VillageMum - I had 'Paperback Writer' on my ipod playlist at the gym yesterday and thought of you! I always wanted to write a novel but you actually have done it - much respect!

vm it was called The Happening, dh said it wasn't that scary, but I thought it was.
Anyway, we went to the beach today to fly ds's new kite, we were having a lovely time until ds accidently let go, and it flew away, he was so upset. Weirdly, though, so was I, it was because it reminded me of my miscarriages, in that I had no control over it but just stand there and watch as the kite flew out over the sea. The situation was so sad and helpless with ds crying. I'm ok now, and so is ds.

Welcome bluesatinsash! .

V sad for your loss. I conceived qt quickly after 1st mc. Had mc in June, fell pg in Aug. Unfortunately mc'd again tho but not giving up hope just yet... Good luck to you too.

Seeing your post, sausage has made me think of sausages for tea ..... .. But yes, healthy is the way forward (ish)...

As is the way when we are down - I just spent £200 on a new rug yesterday, cut my own hair after my shower today (yikes!) and have just bought a lovely silver angel wings pendant for myself online (www.azendi.com) for £67 - to signify angel wings my two mc babies flew away from me with...

Seems a bit like mania but definitely helps!!!

vm I agree that you mustn't assume everyone will be bored by your book, but understand you are likely to be worried they won't like it - human nature I'm sure. Reading is so subjective - one man's poisen and all that... I've read all kindsa books in my life, loved some, hated others and sometimes it's a whole different experience depending on my state of mind and/or circumstances at the time. I think the gals on here reading your book will be doing so with you in mind as the author and will have a closer connection with it than perhaps they might have otherwise which can only be a good thing. So don't worry - your book was published and that in itself is a huge achievement - not only that it's had some pretty amazing reviews already, people don't write that stuff unless they think it, right? From the excerpt I read, I thought it was pretty special. I hope everyone loves it but if they don't then hey that's ok too coz at least they'll know you a bit better and will have had a new experience because of it.

Gosh that was a long one! ...

Im covered in paint, when will it stop my mum is due up on wednesday and im trying to get as much finished as i can...yes even though i left home years ago i still try to impress her!

I wouldnt watch a scary movie, oh my gosh no way....its bad enough in the house on my own let along freaking myself half to death...i have such an over active imagination away (take the beach incident!) Im the kind of person who wouldnt walk up the stairs unless the light is on, have to have all doors and windows shut before going to bed and then i still switch the light off and run to my bed in case the boogey man grabs my legs much like i did when i was five

sausage, my appetite went too as soon as I found out I'd had a mmc, and that was back in early September - I think I lived on Nutella toast for about a month, and not many slices per day either. Couldn't face anything else. Good luck with the healthy eating programme; I'm trying to do the same now!

VJay, have heard terrible things about The Happening! You are brave...

bluesatinsash, hello! Great to see you here. The girls on this thread are just fantastic. It seems to be morphing into a ttc (or thinking about ttc) thread too at times, so feel free to share. Hope after loss - it's all part of a continuum... Thanks for your kind words about paperback writing!

And thanks Jonesey, you've made me feel all positive now!

VJay Glad you liked the first two chapters!

Have been swimming so now it's work time...

Hey a new thread, thanks for linking it from the old thread Barbie, I'm sure this thread will be as supportive as the last one.

blue - yes, I remember you too as foxy, I was previously Stork and I had a mmc at almost 12wks.

I don't think I've watched a horror flick for as long as I can remember. I prefer factual films!

Had my steam/sauna and swim fix earlier today. It was quite busy as there was a full hockey team relaxing and exercising....but sadly, it was a female hockey team!!!! No leching for me

Isn't the weather grim, we hardly saw the sun in summer and I think we won't see much of it now until next spring!!!

vjay and barbie LOL! That did make me giggle! So I have a question for you.... I've just looked out of the back window and noticed, in the gloom, that the shed door at the bottom of my garden is wide open. It was definitely closed earlier today when I looked out... DP is out at his sisters til later. So... do I a)wait for DP to come home and get him to do it or b) take a torch, knife, cross and bible with me, creep down and attempt to shut the door myself... LOL!

My mum loves horror and all that stuff and so my brother and I were kinda brought up on it. I read all the James Herbert and Stephen King novels from about the age of 13 and love all proper scary horror films. That said, I do give myself a fright and get totally freaked out at home alone sometimes and truth is if I were by myself at home I'd never in a million years watch a scary film! DP and me will be going to see the latest 'Saw' film (number 5?) soon I expect as he likes 'em too. I read the Exorcist when I was 13 (it was on parent's bookshelf and they didn't know I'd pilfered it) and the film is easily one of my top 5 ever. Please tell me someone else on here is with me on this....? I am not a freak, honest...

circular sauna/steam etc sounds great idea. When mc passes will def go for one. Shame hockey team not male tho .

Yes horrid, depressing weather. Bit of sunshine always help raise the spirits...

Oh my god, i would get the dog and go to the closest person i know, until either a) somebody takes a look around and gives it the all clear or b) wait until the morning and return home, then armed with the knife, bible etc i would take a look myself!
No kidding you i sleep with a tracksuit on when hubby is away just incase i need to make a quick escape, i also have car keys, house keys mobile and house phone right next to -my head on the bed side table while i sleep. I have planned my escape route if needed and have even tried to fit in the cupboard in case my escape route fails!

Ah but barbie does your escape planning come from being married to a sailor? When we were kids and went on holiday, one of the first things my dad would do would be to determine where the fire door(s) were, the exact route to reach them from our hotel bedrooms (left, right, right, etc), how many stairs on any staircases (in case there was no lighting) and so on. At home, in readiness for a house fire, there was a huge, thick length of rope underneath an upstairs wardrobe which my brother and I were to wrap around the bed closest to the window, secure it with the requisite knot, dangle the end out of the window and then duly shimmy down to the ground and safety. I'm happy to say that we never had to put this theory into practice. I guess that's what 40yrs at sea does to you!!!

lol that is so funny! Im not sure why im like it to be honest, as i kid i wasnt too scared of stuff only spiders! i think it was when i first moved in with dh, we had a 5 bed house over 3 floors. Being an older house it would be more noisy than my parents house so i was always jumpy! The thing with that house was that you would enter on the middle level so in my head i was always concerned how i would leave the building so when james was first leaving for 4 months to work we walked through a escape route to put my mind at ease, only it never put me at ease, just kicked started my imagination and its got worse from there! the house we have here is a big old one too, im thinking next time a 2 bed new build will suit me better!
