Miscarriage/pregnancy loss

Trying again after missed miscarriage

Hi, I had a missed miscarriage which was discovered at 8 weeks but lost the baby at 5 wks. I then had 3 weeks of bleeding which ended 4 weeks ago - so it all started 7 wks ago. I desperately want to be pregnant again but haven't yet had a proper period although I had some spotting about 3 weeks ago. We have been trying on the "let's see what happens" basis and I did a test last night as I thought i was getting some pregnancy symptoms (strange feeling slightly sore boobs mainly) - but it was -ve. How long will I have to wait to get my period - I feel like I am just treading water at the moment and want to get my cycle back on track. Trying to be positive but just feel I'm having one of those negative phases and I thinking I should have been 15 weeks pregnant by now...

Hi there... I'm sorry for your loss lolly, it's a pain this waiting game isn't it? I miscarried 3 weeks ago, had ERPC at 11 weeks, and am just waiting on the first period to show up and sod off so we can start again too...
I Didn't think I'd want to try again but am now discovering that the only thing that will fil this enormous void of emptiness is getting pregnant again...
Not really any use to you other than to say you are not alone in how you feel - and sending lots of support your way... xxx

I'm so sorry to hear about your losses.
After my last mc which was at 16 weeks it took five weeks for my periods to return. I got pregnant after that cycle.

Good luck to both of you.

From what I've read it can be 4-6 weeks til you get your period back after mc

I'm waiting for mine following ERPC 11 days ago

I feel like Pooky73 about the trying again but we are going to have to wait until next year which seems like an eternity away

LollysMum - sorry to hear what your going through - I'm in a very similar situation also had a missed miscarriage (2 weeks ago) and I really really want to get pregnant again as soon as possible.

Its such a difficult time - you keep forgetting and thinking about being pregnant and remember that your not.....Ever since the miscarriage I keep having black moods and getting very down. I found it helps to keep talking about it difficult though it is sometimes - especially as the company i work for have a anon telephone couselling service. if you haven't anything like that the miscarriage association are very useful to talk to as well.

I am going through the same, miscarried 8 weeks ago, my period was back after 5 weeks. I feel it will never work again. But it probably will. Every month brings a new chance. Let's be positive.
xx

First of all, my heart really goes out to you. We miscarried earlier this year at 10 w+2 after first diagnosing a week before - hearing a slow heartbeat knowing that there is nothing you can do to make it better is agonising. But do take heart in that you did actually get pregnant in the first place. We were really lucky in unexpectedly getting pregnant immediately afterwards, which was confusing as I was waiting for my period. But the good news is, that I'm now 37 weeks, with a due date of 16th Dec. It's a tough thing to go through, and do let yourself grieve. As one of 4 sisters, with 3 out of 4 of us having suffered miscarriages, we've all gone on to have perfectly healthy babies and I'm sure you will too.
