Hi ladies, I'm new to the forum and as the title suggests I'm currently having my third miscarriage.

I got my BFP last week, my doctor sent me away with low dose asprin, an antibiotic gel and progesterone supplements but I began bleeding yesterday. Either they haven't helped or it was too late to start taking them. I had one miscarriage at 5 weeks in January 2009, my beautiful son was born November 2009 and my husband and I decided to start ttc for number two in January this year.
I fell pregnant in our first month of trying but lost the baby at 6 weeks pregnant before having another loss in April, and my third loss now.

My doctor has referred me to the recurrent miscarriage clinic and I'm waiting for an appointment to come through but I'm so scared this means I won't have another child. Desperately looking for happy ending stories from ladies who might have gone through the same thing, or if anyone can help me understand what to except from the miscarriage clinic I would be so grateful x

Hi Finns,

Sorry you find yourself in this position. Are you taking sometime out from work?

The mc clinic will run lots of blood tests to look at chromosomes, blood clotting, auto-immune and thyroid. This leads to an explanation in about 50% of cases.

Miscarriage is heartbreaking and I know just what you are going through. I've had five years of infertility and two mcs so far, no DC yet.

There are group of ladies with reoccurring mc who chat here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/miscarriage/2148666-Recurrent-Miscarriage-Support-tests-treatment-trying-again-thread-11

Hope you can post on there and we'll all try to help as much as we can. Lots of ladies on there with several mcs and many who have had happy outcomes so don't give up hope.

XxX

Thank you for your reply Catlover. My DS had his tonsils out yesterday so luckily I already have a week off work. I'll have a look at the thread you mentioned, thank you x

Hi finnsmum I'm so sorry you are gong through this. I was gong to invite you to the RMC thread but I see catlover has beaten me to it. Do join, it makes such a difference having that support.
The only thing I'd add that may be relevant right now is that the hospital should offer to test tissues from the baby/sac/placenta if you either have an ERPC or can collect the tissues from a natural MC and this gives very valuable information. The rest of it is blood tests/scans and is normally done once your hormones have settled down.
I had one MC in between my boys then 3 in the period Sept 2012-June 2013, had NHS tests (normal) and more tests privately once I found out baby 4 was genetically ok. Diagnosis and treatment, and my beautiful 11 week old DD is asleep beside me. Don't give up hope, happy endings happen even after multiply losses. Flowers
