Post mortem results after late miscarriage

We lost our baby boy Alex on May 30th at 21 weeks, we found out that he had died at the 20 week scan. We opted for a postmortem, and we're told this could take 4-6 weeks. On July 25th we were phoned to say that his body had been released for cremation, and he was cremated on 30th July. Sad

2 weeks later, and no one has been in touch about the post mortem results. Does anyone know how long they normally take? I'm worried that they are going to find something, and at the same time worried that they won't and that I'll always wonder why it happened. I'm also desperate to start trying again, I think it's the only thing that will make me feel whole again, but I don't want to until we've had the results for obvious reasons.

I'm sorry about your son - I hope you are getting support although obviously I know nothing probably helps right now.
I have no idea how long this should take - do you have a contact name/number of someone to get in touch with? Even if they don't have anything to tell you yet you could let them know that you are waiting and want to know - I imagine sometimes people really don't feel that they do want to.
As far as trying again - I know you know this but your body could probably do with a little while to heal, and whether or not you get any definitive answers as to why Alex died your mind could probably do with a little while longer to grieve. I can't imagine how difficult things are for you right now and I don't want you to feel I'm just spouting platitudes but if you don't get any answers that desperate feeling of needing to know will dull a little - I've been in a similar position and it does fade, though it might never go completely.
I hope you get the answers you're looking for
Lucas

Are the results going to come to you directly, or will they perhaps go to your GP, or a follow-up clinic? Could your GP do some chasing of the results for you?
