What should I expect from ERPC?

Hi, I'm going through my second mc. The first was very early and natural. This time round at 9 weeks an empty sac measuring 6-7 weeks was found. I'm now booked for an erpc tomorrow.
What should I expect? How long did you bleed for? Did yo ovulate in that cycle?
After my natural mc my body took a good 4 months to get back to normal, my nurse said it might be quicker this time round with the erpc.
Thanks in advance. Smile

Hi, read this and had to respond immediately. Firstly let me say I was so sorry to hear what you have gone through...but secondly and more probably what you want to hear/read..I was you, 15 years ago. I had two mc's, same situations as you describe and both times had an erpc.My body was back to normal very quickly. What is also important for you to hear is that I went on to have two boys (now aged 14 and 12) naturally, not long after, with no problems at all. The erpc is nothing to worry about and is over very quickly. I don't remember bleeding too heavily afterwards and I was told by every doctor that saw me that there was no reason why I shouldn't try for another baby as soon as I felt ready emotionally. I actually used an ovulation kit and therefore knew exactly when to try and that was hugely successful. I have two wonderful boys now but I will never forget the loss I felt at that time. I feel sure once you have had this procedure and you feel strong again, you will be pregnant again very soon, with a baby to follow soon after ! I'll be thinking of you tomorrow. Be strong and all the very best for the future.

Thanks so much January, just what I think I needed to hear. I'm glad you now have your two healthy boys, hopefully I'll have a baby of my own in the not too distant future. Must stay positive! Smile
