I had a tfmr on Tuesday. My baby had spina bifida and brain damage.

In struggling to move on right now but trying to for the sake of dc1.

Just wondering how people coped and when these feelings will start to pass.

Also I left he hospital after giving birth in such a daze that I didn't ask when I could exercise or have relations with my husband again. Is this 6 weeks like a normal labour?

Oh my love :( I would've said 6 weeks recovery time.

You need to rest both physically and mentally. So, so sorry you've gone through this. The first 10 days are rough but surround yourself with friends and family who love you.

Your DC will keep you going

All my love xxx

I'm sorry I didn't see this earlier. I had the same thing at 21 weeks. My baby had spina bfida as well. Its utterly devastating. I'm totally heartbroken and still find the loss hard. Mine happened in March and I am trying to be brave and look to the future. It was my first pregnancy and we had IVF to conceive so there's a long emotional journey ahead.
I feel at peace with the decision we made but sad that we had to make it.
I feel incredibly envious of my pregnant friends and just very saddened that the happiest time of my life became my worst.
My advice is to take each day as it comes, don't force yourself to see people or return to work until you are ready and talk to your partner and friends as it helps to offload the thoughts that whirl through your mind.
I am hopeful that happier times will come and that you, like I, will find strength you didn't know you had.
All the best x
