BF has a much wanted first pregnancy after IVF treatment.
She had problems with SPD and GD but baby was fine, just a bit big.
She was due to be induced next week but baby stopped moving and a scan showed it had died at 37 weeks. Sad
She looks so well and so pregnant and now has to induced to deliver a large baby.
I'm in shock as she was so nearly there that we'd all allowed ourselves to get excited.

Im so very sorry for your friend. She'll need you over the months and more to come...even if its just to know you're there. how can life be so cruel.

MrsH, your friend will need you so much for the next few months ( and years) to be there for her. I lost my daughter to SIDS a year and a half ago and you don't get over it but time has made it easier.
If and when she feels ready we have a lovely, gentle bereaved mums thread. At the moment it's called "As we go through this painful journey together". Please direct her to us, we are all on the same path but it does help sometimes to talk to someone who is a little further along the path.
Much love to your friend xxx

She's out of hospital now, I'll go and see her tomorrow. I have experienced an IUD myself but nowhere near this late in pregnancy.

Both she and her DH are being incredibly brave, chipmonkey. She had a horrific labour but was well looked after.
She's been in touch with a local support group and has the funeral to arrange next.

This is what dh read at dd's funeral. We substituted "Little one" for "Little man"

Light by Hugh O'Donnell

My little man, down what centuries of light did you travel to reach us here, your stay so short-lived;
In the twinkling of an eye you were moving on, bearing our name and a splinter of the human cross we suffer; flashed upon us like a beacon, we wait in darkness for that light to come round, knowing at heart you shine forever for us.

Dh was wonderful, he read it without breaking down. I couldn't have.
