Miscarriage/pregnancy loss

Spotting 3.5 weeks after ERPC

Hi all, I had ERPC for a MMC on 10th April, so 3.5 weeks ago. Didn't bleed after it until 18th April then bled for a week, so that was now 10 days ago that I stopped bleeding. Me and DH decided at the time that although we wouldn't start actively 'trying' for another baby, we wouldn't do anything to prevent conception either so have been having unprotected sex since I stopped bleeding.

Yesterday and today I've started spotting - only slightly (enough to see when I wipe after using the toilet, but nothing showing on a pad) - does this sound like my period returning, I normally have heavy periods. There's a part of me desperately hoping its implantation bleeding but I know that is unlikely - especially since I never had it in previous pregnancies :)

Any suggestions please?

Hi Rockchick
Sorry for your loss.
It sounds like it could be your period. My first two periods after ERPC were both light and early. The first one I bled for 3 days (hardly any blood) then it stopped for 3 days then started again for 3 days.
It's good to have at least one period before trying again, to get your body back on track.

My cycles went short after my MCs so it could be a period - also AF behaves oddly after MC in terms of heavy/light. So yes could be a period. Does your GP have a phone service or womens-nurse you could ring? They could put your mind at rest.

Sorry you find yourself here.

In terms of the bleeding, I would go to your GP if it carries on for long than 5 days or gets smelly.

Thanks everyone - it's now turned into the heaviest period of my life Sad but at least this hopefully means my body will get back to normal and we can start trying again.

Aw sorry to hear that, but at least as you say, you're back in cycles. But if it feels/smells looks dodgy, see your GP. I did, all was well but it put my mind to rest.
