Miscarriage/pregnancy loss

waiting for a natural miscarriage to finish

I'm now three weeks from having my miscarriage confirmed. I had a scan last Friday which showed baby sac had gone but I'm still bleeding and in lots of pain. They did describe it as an incomplete miscarriage with retained products, and told me to call if I was still bleeding in a fortnight Shock

so I went back to work on Monday. I was really tired after two quite short days. I've been getting lots of pain (paracetomal just takes the edge off it only), the bleeding has stepped up a gear again, and since Saturday I've been feeling weak and wobbly. my hands are constantly shaking, and this is getting wise.

is this at all normal? I don't feel feverish and things don't smell (sorry, tmi) so I don't think I'm infected.

Hi, I'm sorry to hear what you've been through. I have just had a MMC and am waiting for everything to start so have no advice to give other than you would be doing no one any harm by getting this checked up properly with your GP/Hospital. I didn't want to read and run, but I wouldn't want to feel weak and wobbly so it is what I would do. Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks snooping. I've just been to the gp as I felt so bad. But apparently this is normal. I just can't believe how long I've been in pain for. He's told me to ask for an eprc if it carries on. I just feel so exhausted by it all. I'm regretting not having the eprc right away.

This is just pants Sad

Are you taking iron? You're probably quite anaemic. Ask GP to check your Haemoglobin and I'd start either Spatone sachets or floradix tonic which are gentler on the tummy than iron tablets. How much are you bleeding? Is it tailing off or is it still heavy? EPU should have arranged follow up if the miscarriage was not complete. You might get more action by contacting them again rather than your GP.

Thanks baking. I've been taking some iron tablets but gp told me to get something stronger.

I'm still losing quite a lot of blood, it just drips out constantly (sorry for tmi). The gynaecological ward have been lovely. They offered to bring me in for a rescan tomorrow, and have said I can come in whenever I need to. I'm actually due to see my fertility doctor tomorrow, and I'll ask him. It sounds like I might need an erpc after all Sad
