Hi all,

I have just been sat thinking (am off work at the mo as MC at 9 weeks on Sat) and i realised that altogether I know a lot of people who have MC'd in 'real life' they have all been first pregnancies. thanksfully now most of them have gone on to have successful pregnancies.
But I have a 2yo and have just MCd on the second pregnancy. Has this happened to anyone else who has then gone on to have more children?
I know I'm beyond lucky to have my daughter but I desperately want a sibling for her Sad

Oh I'm so sorry to hear your news. I had the same thing with my 2nd pregnancy. It never even entered my mind that I'd miscarry having already had one healthy baby so know what you're going through. I then went on to have 2 more babies, all fine and now (aged 44!) got pregnant again. However 3 weeks ago, started bleeding & to cut a long story short had a miscarriage. Had to have a scan 2 days later and to my delight told me I'd been carrying twins and there is still one in there, kicking away. Also virtually everyone I know who has children has had a miscarriage and they have all gone on to have another little one so don't you worry - I think you'll be just fine. x

Yes, I lost my second to a very early mc. My mother miscarried her second baby too. Both of us went on to have another healthy child. I know my sister is soon to start ttc her second and this will be at the back of her mind Sad. I hope all goes well for you next time. X

Thanks for all your replies. Sorry for all your losses. Its a cruel thing to have to go through. but its nice to know there is hope. I find it odd actually how many of my friends have had a MC but every single one was first pregnancy.

my mum miscarried her fourth pregnancy, went on to have my little sis immediately after. think can happen any time. good luck with your next pregnancy, OP.

Baby - MC - baby - MC - waiting to see what happens with pregnancy 5. For most people it is just crappy luck and next time everything will be fine.
Have many friends who have MC at some point in their reproductive years and gone on to have more children.

DS1 was not quite two when I mc.

I gave birth to DS2 within a year.

Sorry for your loss. Be kind to yourself and don't despair.

Sorry for your loss but there is every reason to think that you will go on to have a baby. Look after yourself.

For me, first pregnancy = DS1, no problems at all
second pregnancy = miscarriage (a complete molar pregnancy)
third pregnancy = DS2, no problems at all Smile

As Bakingtins says, for most people it is just crappy luck.

I had MC, MC, DD1, MC, DD2, DD3. Often it's just random, but there is lots of help out there if you want or need to investigate further.
