Hi,
Just wanted to check what I am going through is similar
To other people.

I found out on Monday that my baby had stop growing at 5 weeks and I was soposter to be 13. I have had te option on D and C and I hate op and avoid at all times.

So decide to try the abortion tables. I started bleeding yesterday evening and have gone in to hospital today and they say it is still there and have give me the first pill today. But tonight I have had a lot a pain and the bleeding is a lot heavier and I have past a few clots.

Dos anybody know how long it takes to pass the clots? I really want to pass them in my own home but the hospital are wanting me back in on Sunday to so the rest of the abortion. So time is ticking for me to do this myself. Just not sure of anything.

Any help would be much appreciated. X

Hello, sorry for your loss Sad
I haven't had medical management myself, but believe it can take a few days for everything to come out, so to speak. The expectant mcs I've had at a similar stage involved bleeding for about 4 days, not too much pain thankfully. Have they said if it's another pill they want you to come in for on Sunday?
Hope you have someone in RL to support you through this miscarriage (it's not an abortion - I know medically it was sometimes called spontaneous abortion but I've never heard that term)

I've had one OP and I'm very sorry for your loss Thanks Mine took a week and was very heavy with clots lasting a few days. I took the really strong painkillers, pink pills can't remember what they're called but like codeine and iboprofen mixed. I stayed in bed a lot and rested. Don't be afraid of any bad pain, it can get very severe but you just have to dose up and breathe through it. Let us know how you are doing cxxx

I had a miscarriage without the tablets, most of the clots and blood passed in one day, but then I bled for another two or three days. I was 10 weeks, baby had stopped growing around 6., found the cramps quite uncomfortable on tgat first day and the whole thing pretty miserable.
I'm sorry you're going through this.

Thank for all your advices and help.

They want me back in on Sunday to stay in and they will give me tablets every two hours and make it all pass there and then.

But I am not sure i want to do that now if it is already happening I want my body to sort it out and not be forced.

But didn't know wether it all came out as one bit or in little bit. Cos as the moment mine are little bits no bigger then my thumb nail.

Hi there,
I am really sorry for your loss. I too had a MMC at 13weeks in October. My experience seems quite different to others that have spoken on the threads I've seen, I had no symptoms whatsoever and only started to bleed once I was admitted to hospital. Initially I took 2 tablets and then went home, had very severe cramping but still no bleeding so then had to be admitted for the day and had 4 small tablets put inside down below which finally started things off, I was amazed at what I lost, 2 grapefruit sized masses followed by smaller pieces of tissue then an extremely heavy clotty period lasting I'd say about 10days, I did have a retained placenta with my son so not sure if that may have played a part in this pregnancy also. Hope this doesn't scare you, I just wanted to share what I experienced having being as far along as u. Hope u have a straightforward time as it really is so hard xx

Sorry to hear your sad news.

In similar circumstances I was still losing satsuma-size chunks six days after the first pill, but the hospital was happy for me to do so at home.

I don't think I lost anything more than just blood and tiny (smaller than coins) clots until day four or five. Then suddenly it all came in big gross chunks.

For what it's worth I wouldn't go through it again, so despite being very anxious about surgery I would still go for and recommend the ERPC if nothing was happening after a week. In fact, when I had my most recent mc I was ready to request the ERPC in the first instance, although I was "lucky" enough to have a complete mc this time.

Be kind to yourself.

Well last night was the night from hell started about 10. Was in a lot of pain and passed just a lot of clot. Haven't slept at all and this morning quite a large clot came out. I have going through a towl in 45 mins.
Dos this spun normal as I have nearly stopped bleeding now and don't want to build my hope up that it is all over if it isent.

Worst week of my life just want it gone now.

What you experienced last night sounds like what happened with mine. After the big losses, soaking through towels really quickly, came a day or so of period-like bleeding. But as others have said, seems like everyone is different.
I hope your day has gotten easier, in terms of physical pain. Agree you should be kind to yourself, let someone look after you, watch DVDs, take time plenty of time off if you work. It really is a horrible experience.

Not sure about the preg test. When you go in tomorrow they'll be able to tell you.

Ema - so sorry for your MMC which is hard as its days or weeks before you know your baby has gone and your body still thinks its pregnant!
Def not the same as abortion which is self inflicted not the same at all!
Also yes the bleeding can last for another week then slowly trail off!
Then a few weeks bleeding may return I called this " shedding" the body getting rid of the thickness of womb etc!!!
If you do a test it will read positive right now but will go negative once the hormones and Htc levels return to normal!!!
Hope this helps!!!!!

I'm very sorry for all the losses on here- take care.
