Miscarriage/pregnancy loss

How long until your body returned to 'normal' after loss?

Hello,

At 9w5d I found out that my twin gestational sacs were no longer growing. I had an ERPC last Friday 4th and I'm now slowly recovering. I felt I was doing well until my DH went to work today and I was left alone for the day. I'm feeling very down and just want my body to recover so we can try again.

I was wondering how long it took for lady's bodies to feel pre-pregnancy i.e how long until the swollen tummy and larger boobs went down? I think I'll feel better when I no longer look and feel slightly pregnant. This was my first pregnancy so I'm finding it quite hard.

Thanks.

Sorry you have been through this. It took me a couple of months for my body to get back to normal, and my periods were regular again by then too. Give yourself time to recover and be kind to yourself. You won't feel this miserable forever even though it feels like it now.

Take care, and the best of luck for the future x

Hi brighteryear
I was just coming on to ask the exact same question.
Hope you don't mind me hijacking.
I'm so sorry for what you've been through. 2013 has been a bit naff so far to say the least x
I too had a miscarriage on Christmas Day do a few weeks back yet.
Pregnancy tests after all negative.
But boobs really need telling.
They're huge, incredibly sore and almost red, like when you get mastitis.
Surely by now, given the fact my hormones are low enough to register a negative pregnancy test, my body would reflect that?
Anyone else experienced.

So sorry you are going through this.

I had a MMC at 12 weeks and ERPC back in mid-Oct (feels like only yesterday). I stopped looking obviously pg within 6 weeks. Back in normal jeans within about 3 weeks. Boobs have shrunk but still aren't quite back to their normal size BUT my hcg levels are still elevated (equivalent of being about 5 weeks pg) because of a rare complication with the pregnancy.

Thanks for your helpful replies.

212VIP - Sorry you're going through the same thing. It has been an awful Xmas and start to the new year. Hopefully the worse is over now though. I'll feel a lot better once I feel like I'm looking myself again. I feel a bit better after a long walk today.

I think we'll feel better soon. Just takes the body a while to 'catch up'. Best of luck. x
