I don't know if its any help but I saw you and wanted to reply, this happened with my dd2 but more so and she's 8 now. I would call your midwife team, there will be someone on call and they can advise or reassure as needed, good luck but please don't panic. Xx

Just here to give you a hug butterfly, no advice although I have had three miscarriages in the last two years, the only thing I can say is just wait, it could very well be a normal discharge, so hang on in there for now and feet up. Xxx

Thank you to both of you im not registered with a midwife yet i do have a scan with my consultant though on 4th jan beacause of previous miscarriages i dont know if i should wait until then if it stops. God i hate theses early weeks its so stressful and it drags i dont think i could bear it if it happened again x

It is awful, I have high risk pregnancies and the second in particular was very stressful. Ill keep my fingers crossed, try if possible to relax ( daft to say I know)

I'm holding your hand here and wishing you a very sticky baby.
Sorry that this has happened today, I know the worry you must be going through and it's awful.

A GP or early pregnancy unit at hospital could do hcg tests for you to see if levels rising or falling. Sometimes they are keen to do this to rule out ectopic pg.
I have had a discharge such as you describe with all my pgs - four times it was, sadly, a mc, but twice all was well and I had the babies.
Two years ago on Christmas day I started bleeding in the evening and lost another baby - today I'm spending the day with a 7 month old baby.
Not sure if any of that is reassuring! Trying to say the discharge could be nothing, and even if you've had previous mmcs it doesn't mean you will not have your baby. Good luck x

I've had 3 miscarriages (but now have 2 dc). I had a mini bleed like you describe with DC2. I am not a medical expert, but I just wanted you to know that the same thing happened to me and all was well.

I don't think your miscarrying. I think brown is usually a good sign. They always asked me if it was red.
If the worst does happen, as you will have had 3 recurrent mcs, you can ask for tests to be done now - not much of a bright side, but can lead to a solution!

I think i just always think any spotting = miscarriage because with both my mmc brown spotting was the first sign but further on 9&10 weeks hopefully im worrying for nothing x

Butterfly - you could phone your out of hours gp tomorrow and explain how much it's upsetting you esp as it's your third PG with 2MC. I was very distressed and tearful while talking to my gp on the phone this week for exactly the same thing and he arranged an emergency referral to epu. in my previous PG with DS, now 2, I had bloods and a vaginal scan done at five and a half weeks so it's not too early for them to see you. I would stress that you couldn't stand waiting over this time of year.

i'm really hoping for the best for you x

Mytime- i will do that tomorrow i think i might phone epu direct as ive already got an app and they might see me earlier. What happened with you when you went to epu hope all was well x

All i can think is its implanted but never got started. She said i should see my consultant to investigate some more so i shall be doing that. Cant believe it xx

I'm so sorry to hear that awful news, especially over Christmas. The tests weren't wrong, that's just something they say. Get yourself to the GP as soon as you can and get referred to the recurrent miscarriage clinic.
Take care of yourself.

Thanks accidental, i felt like i'd made it all up but i know i was pregnant. I definately need something doing about it thats 3 in a row in the space of 9 months, im pleased in a way its happened earlier its been much harder when we have gotton to 10 weeks with the last one. what upsets me the most is how dissapointed everyone else is my dp my parents and inlaws im upset for them more than me i think i must have hardened to it i know that sounds awful but i think you do prepare yourself for the worst x

Butterfly, I've had 5 MC, two were early like yours, all with dark brown discharge, none with bright red blood.
I started to worry that I was making it up when the doctors questioned my pregnancy tests. I guess it took me a few days to accept I'd had another.
I too was relieved that they were early MC, much much easier to go through than the later ones when you start to hope and let yourself relax and get attached.
The grief may still come, it's such early days. Be gentle on yourself and any emotions that arrive.
It's a sad reflection of how resilient you have become when you feel hardened to them.
Do some research to find out the best hospital to be referred to, it makes a lot of difference. In fact research is key, consultants will often give you only what you ask for in terms of treatment. Good luck.

So sorry you have had 5 mc thats awful, did you get any answers after that many? I am under a consultant beacause i paid privately after the 2nd mc she has now transferred me on to her nhs list but its not a recurrent mc clinic she does specialise in that area though. I've had basic tests done-thrombophilia screen and checked for inherited tendancies. I dont know what the next step would be regarding tests but i will do some research so i know the kinds of things to ask for, we do need some answers though x

No answers for us but on reflection we didn't chose the best place or the best specialist. We went to the place with the smallest waiting list.
Our consultant did all the regular tests but wouldn't go further than that.
Have a look on the thread entitled TTC or pregnant on Prednisolone (sorry cant link). If all the tests come back negative you could look at asking to be tested for high natural killer cells or using Prednisolone during early pregnancy.
Fingers crossed this may be the next stage for us.
Good luck

Very sorry to hear your news. How unfair Sad I agree with pp that your pg tests weren't wrong - what an odd thing for them to say - do they think that would make you feel better?
I am a prednisilone graduate, don't think I'd even have heard of it except for threads on mumsnet.

Thank you to all of you, i dont know why they said that but it made me feel as if they thought i was just a mental miscarrier and had imagined the whole thing-i did not those tests were positive. "pregnant 1-2" is not a mistake! I am worried that my consultant won't take this mc seriously now. I've had a quick look on prednisolone threads i dont know if anyone can link to one they were on for me? Im still just brown bleeding when i wipe and not much in the way of cramping, im tempted to do the other clearblue digi i have to just see what it says but maybe im just torturing myself i just can't understand how i could have a positive on sat night then bloods be right down today when i haven't passed anything as such x

Are you bookedto go to the EPC?
It sounds like the MC hasn't started yet. IME the MC at this stage was like a period but carried on for about 8-10 days. Of course it's different for everyone.
Won't the EPC want to scan you until you're all clear?
