Just wondered if anyone in Wales fancied the idea of a meetup - I know there was one in Bath last year, and I think there's more of us in Wales now - star & bron of course and I think jac34 and I'm sure there's at least a couple of others.
I haven't got any set ideas of where/when/what, just thought I'd dip my toe in the water and see what the interest is.

Oh yes! Think a meet-up in Wales will be great - I'm near Swansea but willing to travel to have a good day out & a gossip!!

I could be up for a local night out-or afternoon do with booze of course, depending on when.

I,m in Cardiff, I would rather it was child free as well !!!

Maybe we could arrange meeting for near St Davids Day?! A good excuse for a few drinks & gossip!

Personally, I would prefer a child-free lunch - from my experience of the meet-up I went to last year, there's just not enough time to speak to everyone, so at least a lunch-time meet would give us a head start! And without children is a must for the alcohol / gossip mix I envisage! Can't do St David's day w/end, as my parents are coming down (for the Worthington Cup Final, which is on the Sunday, so Cardiff may be busy that weekend, anyway). What about 15th March? or 22nd? I think Cardiff is probably best, as it's easiest in terms of transport. Anyone "over the bridge" who is interested is very welcome, too - the more the merrier.
Anyone got any ideas for venue?

I think Wales are playing Ireland on 22nd March so it might be a bit hectic in Cardiff that day
I could make the 15th and child-free would be my choice too!
Don't know Cardiff very well anymore, so can't suggest a venue I'm afraid

There is quite good public transport to the bay, trains every 10 min.,and buses I think.
Also, a two store car park behind Mermaid Quey.
But if some people don't know Cardiff well, perhaps more central would be better.
Sorry, don't know many venues though, lunch is usually with the kids, so it's KFC, Burger King or McDonalds.

Just a thought, I have not been there ,but friends of mine often meet for lunch in, La Fossi, next to Habitat on the Hayes. They say it's pretty good.

Right, been away for a few days (in London, which always makes me feel grateful that I live in Wales). Maybe we should try and do this in April, to give a bit more notice. Does anyone know la fossi? Just done a quick search, but couldn't find it - bit nervous about going somewhere unknown, but willing to give it a try if good reports been received.
So, who wants to do April, and when in April? What about 12th? For me, the sooner the better.

I can do any time in April, so 12th is fine by me.
Don't know la Fossi, have been to Il Positano (opposite Old Arcade pub)but wouldn't necessarily rush to recommend it!

April will be great - I don't drive so somewhere central Cardiff will be good. The Square near the station looks quite nice - do good food & drinks fairly reasonable - these things matter don't they!!

Zippyb, are you talking about Mill Lane? If so, Las Iguanas is nice (Mexican). The only trouble with later in April is that it's Easter holiday time - what about 5th?

emsiewill not sure what road is called but it is the main one - road where there is that big department store & at very end of road is the Castle - but don't mind where we go as long as I get good directions! Don't suppose there is any of you guys coming from Neath is there? Just a thought - nice to have company on train!

5th April also OK with me. I am vegetarian (don't eat fish)so usually find plenty of choice in Italian restaurants.

Ask sounds good - always thought it looked nice when walking past. So is 5th April OK for everyone? So far, I count me, Bron, star, zippyb, cerys, jac34 - any more takers?
