sits and rocks in the corner

There is a bus which drops off just across the road. There's free coffee and tea if you have a family card (which is free). And there's meatballs! Horse free meatballs!

I'm Derby and quite happy to meet! (I don't do football either so I'm sure the Rams/Forest thing will be fine!)Wink

When are you looking at meeting? There seems to be a certain apathy about meet-ups apart from the London piss-up, so don't take it personally!

Have you tried meet-up website as well? There's a few groups in Derby and Nottingham.

Smile Thank you!

Derby's having a meet up in the Quad. Have you seen the thread?

I'm determined to get Nottingham to have a meet up. It may drive me up the wall, but I will do it!!

I'd not seen that, will venture over to the local site, been a bit stuck lurking in AIBU! Grin
I love Ikea for a meet-up. Some of our NCT group still meet-up fairly regularly, then plan was always to meet at Ikea for lunch, then onto Escape. (We didn't do lunch at Escape as they were rather officious with their 2-hr only policy!) The last few times we met, we never made it into Escape, with playing in the play bit in the cafe, then mooching round Ikea! Blush

2 hours! Shock Blimey! Ikea are going to give us a comfy area in the cafe with cushions etc. There's a creche for the over 4s if anyone wants to do some shopping afterwards. Smile

Yes, most of the soft plays around here say that they may stick to 2 hrs in busy periods, Escape print out a receipt with the time you're supposed to be gone by!

I'm near Nottingham, I'm in Melton, but I'm afraid my children are Quite Big ....

That's unhelpful, Arion. Sad

You can still come, coldtiz. Age has no boundaries, it would be nice for the new mums to listen to your tales of puke and sleepless nights. Wink

I'd love to get some advice from someone who has an older child (mine's 14). My mother doesn't have any words of wisdom so I'm left making it up. What I wouldn't do for some advice sometimes Sad

I'd definitely be interested. I work three days a week but would come if it didn't clash with my rota. Any excuse for a trip to the Ikea food shop! I know there are a couple of mners close to me too so I'll hopefully we can get a group together. I've posted on the thread in local too :)

I'm very close to Beeston but have to go into the city centre every day to drop ds off at school. I can travel (on the bus) anywhere. Smile

I'm sure we can get a meet up going then. I spend a fair bit of time on my in too as I work most weekends and all of my friends are teachers, council workers etc so work Monday to Friday. Ds is 13mo but I've never really got into baby groups so we do lots of walking around parks and reading!

I'm a bit Blush that a morning out at Ikea sounds like it could be the highlight of my month :)

LadyMaryQuiteContrary · 12/05/2013 15:28

No need to be Blush I think being a parent can be really lonely if you're not working out of the house. Ds is 14 now, I didn't go back to work until he was 2 and I can remember taking him out as much as I could because I just wanted someone to talk to. I work from home now and I wish the days away sometimes. I must be a bit of a social bird. Grin
