Recipe of the week

penguinmum's creamy fish pie: smoky, seasonal fish in a creamy white sauce with grated, rather than mashed, tatties on top - a meal of the highest comfort-food order.

Birth mothers and adopted children

(2 Posts)
I am currently researching real life stories of babies who were given up for adoption in the late 60's/early 70's and their birth mothers who have since tried to find them - or who have been found by their son or daughter in later life.

I fully understand that this can be very raw and highly emotional subject - but if any adopted children or birth mothers would be willing to talk to me (absolutely confidentially) I would be so grateful.

I have just started writing a novel and want to make sure I fully research this subject that I am truly moved by. I would love to speak to anyone who has successfully found their son or daughter or any women who have decided to close that painful chapter of their life.

I am particularly interested in finding out about the nursing homes the young mothers to be were sent to and would love to talk to an ex nurse or midwife - or to a mother who gave birth in one.

Please contact me by email. I will of course completely protect your anonimity.

Many thanks for reading this message.

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
