Hello,

Thought this may be of interest to all parents.

We created a travel planning website (only UK), called PlacesOnTheWay.com.

It is completely free and we don't make any money from it.
(My OH is a tech headed hippy!)

If you are planning a journey, it lets you know what is on the way so that you can break a journey into smaller chunks - making it part of your day trip/short break. It does the usual 'what's around me' search - but lets you filter it down to places that are suitable for a certain age range or whether it has certain amenities. He has just added an events section which he is trying to populate to help people find what is happening around a journey or location.

Have had some good feedback and people have told us that they have saved a lot of time and money using this site.
We have used it when trying to locate a petrol station and a restaurant to stop off at a few minutes off the route (as we don't like stopping at service stations - too expensive).

Just interested in finding out what people think of it! (gulp!)

Thought it worked well. I couldn't link to the hotels directly from your site but apart from that it was useful. (Hampshire to Scotland)
