I actually think it's my head that's hungry not my stomach .....does that make sense ?

Evenings are where I normally 'overeat' .. Choc bars , wine, crisps .. Etc after a big tea

Done well with food today I thought ( see other thread am I eating too much)

But then 15 mins ago I had a mini peperami and a piece if cheese and I did drink water first to see if it was thirst ... Although it flipping shouldn't be the amount I've drunk today .... I just feel like I'm doing it all wrong and eating too much

Low carb diets always lead to over-eating. try and eat most carb for breakfast and lunch. perhaps cut your evening portion sizes and add more veg.

it's very easy to over-eat in the evening. If I fancy something really sweet I will have a chai tea - it's divine. and then see if I still feel the same after. drinking a sweet relaxing tea usually makes me feel good and want to stay on track though!

a good thing to snack on is nuts and cheese. or a glass of milk.

dieting is a gradual thing. don't cut out everything at first otherwise it becomes too difficult. just start by cutting your portion sizes and trying snack alternatives. and do treat yourself. otherwise, what's the point ay!

everyone has different opinions. try and eat natural foods most the time and be experimental with flavours. but overall, do what feels right for you!

p.s. try looking into Paleo. it's like the caveman way of eating which doesn't mean eating raw food! Paleo is just a way of cooking/eating using natural ingredients, and only ingredients that were around in the caveman days. you can make all sorts of cakes and meals Paleo and they still taste fab. plus you know you can indulge a little more because, hey, it's natural! :D

Ummm low carb doesn't always lead to overeating. Quite the opposite in fact. It is the release of insulin that triggers hunger so once you have settled into the diet your hunger disappears. That can take anything upto two weeks.
At first just eat until you are full and once the hunger eases you can start to be more careful. But don't eat carbs. .

I am on a form of low carb diet, the dissident's diet, and after eight weeks, I actually had to force myself to have breakfast this morning. I didn't feel hungry until I put the first forkful in my mouth. Never ever felt like that before!

I did sometimes feel 'snacky' in the evening and would have a small bowl of berries and full fat Greek yogurt or double cream. And with this diet you can have 20grm 85% chocolate which is about two squares of a large bar. Bit of an acquired taste but now I love it with a cuppa at the end of the day when DS is in bed! My treat.

I have lost a stone BTW, just in case you wondered if the chocolate and cream held me back!

Thanks ..

I love dark chocolate .. And yes that had become my treat too . At the end of the evening Smile

I have lost inches ... And 6lbs so far .. So happy that it seems to be working so far ... It just feels weird to be having extra thick double cream with strawberries and blueberries with linseed for breakfast .. When that would have been considered a treat last week Smile

[whatdoesittake48] you're right that it doesn't always lead to over-eating. I worded that wrong. it's just people I know who are used to a certain amount of carb and then cut back completely because they are dieting, shock their bodies and most of the time end up over-indulging because they don't replace it with anything else. hence my other tips. :)
