Low-carb diets

Day three, and I need to pee ALL the time?!

I'm on day three of doing low carb, and am finding it easier than I anticipated. A bit of a headache this morning and I fully expect to have a real horror of a day in the next few days. But so far so good, I'm not hungry at all and not even tempted to cheat. But. I need to pee All. The. Time. Which is doubly awful as I pulled literally every muscle in my body doing the shred on Monday so walking up and down the stairs is a real feat. Is this normal? Is this just my body getting rid of a load of fat ? I'm not drinking any more today than I have been the last few days so it's caught me a little by surprise.

It's your body getting rid of all the excess water weight that the excess glycogen in your muscles retains. Excess glycogen results from excess dietary carbs and high blood sugars, hence the peeing for England as it reduces! it'll settle in a few days and after a fortnight you can be sure that the reduction is mostly fat, not water.

losing water makes you look thinner too, it is not wasted loss imvho. I look v puffy when I have been eating sugar, it is lovely to get rid of it all and look that bit thinner!

People talk about losing water weight as a disappointment, like oh, it's not a proper loss it's just the water.

But the first week water dump is fantastic and can drastically improve how you look, it's amazing how just a little bit of puffiness in the face can dull all of your features, especially your eyes.

Woohoo for first week water dump!

I can definitely see a difference tonight. I don't think I'm imagining it. The things I measure my weight by to look at are my jaw and collarbones. When either disappear I know I'm too podgy. But my jaw does look more defined, and I can definitely see my collar bone beginning to show itself. Hurrah!
