I'm back on the wagon after finding happiness (and the pies) in the last couple of years. I lost an awful lot of weight on low carb about 5 years ago, getting from a size 20 to an 8 but it got to a point where really I was too thin and couldn't keep it up. I started cutting meals as well as just carbs and it all got a bit silly. Then I met my lovely dp, started eating big meals and in the last year I've put on almost 2 stone. It's doesn't look as terrible as it does in my head, and in fact trying in my summer clothes just now, an awful lot are just a smidge too small which makes it seem all the more doable. I'm feeling extra motivated. For the sad part, I had a mmc just a few weeks ago, but physically the recovery has been much easier than I'd thought it would be. Emotionally, still a bit up and down but I think I need something to focus on, that is actually going to help me look after myself in a positive way. I was dreading piling on the weight as silly as it sounds, seeing that I'd already put so much on before concieving. So I want to get myself in better physical shape for when we try again.
I know what I'm doing, being an old hat at low carb, if anything I'm dreading the 3-4 day slump that I know is inevitable. I've got the 30 day shred which is still in its wrapper from when I bought it 2 years ago. I'm going to try and do it each day when ds has his nap. That's going to be the hardest bit. I'd love to lose the 2 stone I've already put on, but tbh I'd be happy with one. We're off on holiday at the very end of August and I'm going to use that as my goal. I want my summer clothes to fit properly by then (yes, the very bloody end of summer. But I can hope!)
Is anyone else starting tomorrow?

2 boiled eggs for breakfast and I've just done the 30 day shred straight after the school run. Am glad I've done it, but oh dear god I feel like I'm going to ache forever. I'm going to take ds to run around the park later and go and buy lots of low carb friendly food. At least the workouts are going to help me with my water intake, I've just gulped down almost a litre!

Hi Sloane well done on getting started and also 30 day shred. So sorry to hear about mmc Flowers.

If no newbies are starting right now there is another low carb thread I was just looking at that's only been up for a week or so, also a paleo thread (higher carby veg and fruit allowed but no grains) if you want to give that a try you could join us Grin; there is also a topic all to itself BIWIS Lowcarb bootcamp which is really informative.

You're very welcome to come and join us on Bootcamp! We're in week 8 now, but lots of people are joining all the way through. Plenty of help, support and motivation there.
