Low-carb diets

Where to start? Any good LC/Ketosis websites, books, meal planners etc that you'd recommend?

Evening all.

Feel like it's time to try LC. I flirted with it a bit whilst on 5:2 and it always seemed to make my fast days easier. I am now faced with a stubborn last 10lbs that I need to shift so would like to start low carbing in time for my holiday in 6 weeks.

But....

Where the hell do I start??? Has anyone read any good books on ketosis and the science behind it? I feel like I do could do with a set of rules to operate in - eg only xx grams of carbs, yy grams of protein zz grams of fat a day etc. I genuinely don't know where to begin.

Help!

Thanks in advance

Dr Briffa books seem to be pretty well recommended. Go onto the Boot camp and check out the brilliant recipe threads.

I like the website reddit keto (just search that on google). Lots of links to good proper academic papers and I think there may be a keto science set of pages on reddit too. That first site also has some suggested principles.

Marksdailyapple website is worth checking out too (sorry can't link). I also would like to lose 10lbs so could join you if you like?

Yes, Marksdailyapple is good. I also like paleohacks.

Although paleohacks would involve eating things like carrots, parsnips, sweet potato which is not keto but is obviously pretty healthy compared to a lot of foods.
