Gammon joint

Anyone got any tips on cooking a gammon? All recipes that I've found contain loads of sugar Sad

The sugar is to counter the saltiness of the bacon but you could boil it for 20 mins and then roast it. My family love it covered in pepper and rosmery and slow cooked at about 120C.

I soak for 24hrs to remove as much salt as possible.

Then boil/simmer in water with a couple/three bay leaves, a few cloves and 1/2 tablespoon of whole blackpepper corns.
