Low-carb diets

Can anyone advise on dairy?

Am signed up for boot camp but feeling awful so planning on starting a pre-boot camp bootcamp of my own after new year. I have never really stuck to LC before so hoping for good things.

I am just a bit worried about dairy as I have seen some people can have problems with it and wondered if any seasoned LCers could recommend a good approach. I bloody love cheese an d would love to have cream drenched veggies, but don't want to do this and falter in the early stages.

So how best to start off? Once a day, twice a week, not at all? Help and advise much appreciated.

I low carb (except for now when I am pigging out!) and, like many others, have no problems with dairy.

I would say start off low carbing and allow yourself to have dairy as you want to. You can see how you go and just reduce or cut it out if you don't lose or stall

Chester - the only way to find out if dairy is a problem for you is to see what happens! I'd start off with the assumption that dairy is OK, and focus on cutting down on the carbs first.

But don't go mad - don't have yoghurt, cheese and cream in all your meals and then snack on cheese as well!

If you're interested, I'm setting up a 'soft start' to Bootcamp starting on 6/1? I'll be setting it up over the next couple of days.

Thanks for the advice, I will give it a go and see how I get on.

I am starting full-on bootcamp today, can't wait til official one starts as will be size of a house by then.

I was wondering this too. I've been looking at primal, but no dairy puts me right off. I randomly went off bread over Christmas (am usually a toast monster) and think I can just about bear to ditch other carbs, but the thought of no cheese makes me feel a bit panicky!
