Low-carb diets

How do you include fibre in your diet when low-carbing?

Have been following bootcamp rules for about 3 weeks with great results, many thanks to all that contributed to that! I really really miss fibre though. Suspected rectocele after birth of DS2 2 years ago, but everything is fine as long as I do not get constipated. Usually I would have a bowl full of oatbran for breakfast and a tin of grapegruit through the day, even though I usually eat lots and lots of fruit and veg. Not a fan of laxatives. Any low-carb ideas for upping fibre?

When I was low-carbing I found this a real problem. I came across a fibre supplement called benefiber, which is soluble fibre that you can dissolve in water or other drinks, or sprinkle on food, it doesn't taste of anything and I found it really helped. I'm not low-carbing any more, I found it too difficult to stick with after a couple of months, but I still use benefiber. You can get it on amazon, or other internet healthcare companies.

Flaxseed is high in fibre and relatively low carb. Mix a couple of spoonfuls of the ground flaxseed stuff into greek yoghurt etc.

Other than that just lots of green veg - courgettes, broccoli etc, that are low carb but reasonable fibre-wise.

Lots of veg. That's where your carbs should mostly come from anyway. And high fat and lots of water will also help.

I made the dukan galette, with 1tbsp oatbran, 1 egg, 1 tbsp of creme fraiche, served with squeeze of lemon. Filling & what I would call balanced carb as didn't seem to raise my blood sugar.

I also (still do ) soak 1 dsp of golden linseeds in water for about 10 mins & then try to swallow whole !

Eating brocolli, cauliflower, swede, butternut squash helped too.

I hate not pooing properly Grin
