Best Butter?

Hi
Could someone recommend a good butter for low carbing? Have been using Lurpak lighter. Would normal Lurpak be ok or is there a better alternative I could go for?
Thanks!

I use olive oil...there's nothing better. Those fake butters are bad for you in general.

I agree with Frantastic84 olive oil is a lot better.

You aren't supposed to use olive oil for cooking I believe (can turn into trans fat I think... Though I do still use it for roasted veg etc because it tastes nice!)

I use kerrygold and I think it's very tasty, though any supermarket basic range would be fine unless you're bothered about "grass-fed" I think (some people are)

I agree don't use lurpak lighter or similar low fat products as they're heavily processed and you want to keep your fat levels up with low carbing

Willie you don't cook with it...you use it like butter...on bread!

...but not as part of a low carb diet!

Ah bollocks to it...I low carb all the time and now and then I cave and have a bit of bread and oil. I'm a size 10 to 12. Can't be bad.

I'm sure it's fine every now and then and I agree delicious Grin, but I think the OP is asking what to replace lurpak lighter with on a more daily basis?

Olive oil great on salads and drizzled on veg etc, lots of varieties of real butter too for cooking, melted on veg etc. As Starfish says coconut oil is good for cooking if you like it
