So, having read a lot of these threads, I'm intrigued to start. I don't own scales, as I think (for me) it can get a bit obsessive, so am more concerned about fitting into my clothes than my actual weight, if that makes sense, the tum has got a bit out of control. I only check the weight at my parents, so at christmas was 12 and a bit, which is not good for 5 foot 6, although I know from experience that I look like a corpse if below 10, or so, helpfully, said my dad when I was a teenager...

However, I'm not giving up the white wine, but will minimise, and that seems to be not to bad an option. Tell me if my plan for the next two days is awful, and give me ideas for more meals please!

So the idea for tomorrow is :

Breakfast - don't do it. coffee with semi skimmed, but will leave the sugar out

Lunch - pack up of 5 cherry tomatoes, wedge of brie, wedge of tesco mushroom pate

Dinner - chicken breast stuffed with a tiny bit of pesto, wrapped in bacon, raw baby spinach salad with olive oil/paremsan shavings dressing.

next day - same breakfast and lunch

dinner - salmon fillet steamed in foil package with butter, olive oil, garlic, and leeks steamed in butter.

I understand I can eat pork scratchings as a snack! happy days!

does this sound ok?

Try a bulletproof coffee for breakfast.

Shot espresso, tbsp butter, tbsp coconut oil, dbl cream. Blend and drink. V v v yummy.

Tomatoes are carby so would avoid. Rest looks ok but you are not eating enough imo.

Take some hb eggs and mayo for a snack and babybel.
More veg needed too.

My tips are.....more butter and gallons of water.

I can easily (and happily) swap semi skimmed for cream in the coffee, but not so sure about coconut oil, can't abide the hairy oddities.

And yes, was planning on at least 2 litres of water per day, luckily we have a chilled filter thing at work.

However I am massively allergic to eggs (think epi pen style) so that's not going to work. Babybel on the other hand are ace, thanks.

Also, I was wondering, is there a good carb monitoring app I can get on my phone?Ideally free (mere;y as have just got a new bank card and changing things on android seems to be a total PITA.

Ok, will do! tomorrow, I need to sleep off my last carb heavy meal - spaghetti with anchovies, rocket and parmesan stirred in, I shall miss that.

And also need recipes to use up the rest of the anchovy jar!

Thank you for your help, much appreciated.

Peel a courgette into strips and fry in butter. You will not miss the pasta. SmileSmile

Hmm, I liked my canadian aunt's zucchini bread, but am not a fan as a rule. I assume you grate the skin off to start with.....

OK, thanks, I shall try that.

So today was:

2 coffees (with milk, bad I know, but have now bought cream for tomorrow)

3 babybels for breakfast

Lunch - pate, brie, 5 cherry toms

Dinner - chicken stuffed with pesto and wrapped in bacon, huge rocket and baby spinach salad with olive oil dressing.

2 litres of water

2 glasses of wine (bad. but it was a long day, and the rest was pretty carb free...)

Is that ok?

Coconuts are hairy oddities? What blasphemy is this? Wink Grin

I love raw coconut oil straight off the spoon! But next best fat is KerryGold butter, it's great for cooking veggies in (a typical lunch for me is a couple of mushrooms and a bit of leak or courgette sauté d in a big nob of it with some chicken or fish). KerryGold is grassfed Irish butter, so it has lots of omega 3 in it.

You are doing well already but if you want to do a bit of reading about the best fats to be eating, the best carbs to keep your blood sugar level (to control hunger and for improved health), Marks Daily Apple is a very good starting point as he's sensible and down to earth.
It's true, there are lots of egg recipes but plenty of alternatives too. I avoid eggs (sometimes I have the whites only) as the yolks are a migrane trigger for me, fortunately no where near Epi pen levels! That must make things very difficult for you.
...........
Bullet proof coffee, I keep meaning to try it (but it needs unsalted butter which I forget to buy)... I thought the idea was to have butter instead of cream?

At least the egg problem means that I have no desire for cakes, puddings etc! Cheese has always been my downfall as a substitute, so I'm most chuffed to find it's a good thing.

I'll try Marks Daily Apple, thanks.

Bulletproof coffee is never going to happen. I stand by my opinion on coconuts, their only purpose is glued into cups in fairgrounds imho Wink

Salted butter is fine too in the coffee.

It really is tasty. SmileSmileSmileBrewBrewBrew

Sounds a bit odd to me....

Anyway today...

coffee with cream no sugar

2 babybels for breakfast

Lunch - pate, brie, 5 cherry toms

Dinner - salmon steamed in a foil package with olive oil, garlic, s+p and butter, with shitloads of leeks softened in a large amount of butter on the side. yum. Didn't miss spuds at all.

1.5 litres of water

Chilled latte - 12.9 g of carbs, see, I'm checking, but wanted some caffeine for my coffee date in the park with my ex employee and thought it was better than coke, or even fruit juice, was I wrong?

2 glasses of wine

Ruperkt- I tried the bulletproof coffee with coconut oil and salted butter a goodly amount of each... It was ... Interesting, not in a good way! The texture was really good, and I hot it lovely and frothy (stick mixer) but way too salty for my morning cuppa. I thing I will love it with unsalted butter, if only I can remember to buy some! Still sounds dodgy to me!

So far so ok, saving carbs for wine, and eating a lot of avocados, broccoli, cauliflower, mushrooms etc. and salmon, prawns, cheese and meat.

I'm surprised by how little I've pondered the fine attributes of your humble spud. and bread.

and cream in the coffee not milk is fine (except I'm in a rush in the morning so it doesn't cool it down enough, solved by bunging an ice cube in!)
