My eatingis out of control.

I have tried slimming world but tbh, it just encourages me to eat more.

I do feel better if I lower my carbs.

I know there's a boot camp thread on here but I need the basics please.

Basic suggestions for meals as well.

At the moment I currently eat muesli, lf plain yogurt & banana for breakfast.

Lunch is a granary bread sandwich (chicken or cheese).

Dinner would be carbs, veg & meat or fish.

My snacking is DREADFUL though. Even with this hot weather. All sweet stuff.

I need to break the cycle of eating sweet crap.

Many thanks all.

Eggs.... Try them for breakfast?

Salads with fish/chicken/cheese

Dinner could be similar but veg.... Snack on meat/cheese/veg

Drink water.... Lots

Gets to a point where hunger disappears

Thanks HeySoulSister

What veg should I avoid?

I am addicted to eating. For the sake of it, Blush. I need to break that cycle.

You aren't addicted to eating

More likely you are relying on sugar too much.... It's hidden everywhere and can be addictive.... Keeps you going back for more. Your body doesn't need it. At all.

Avoid carrots, potatoes, tomatoes mostly. Eat fat. That's what fills you up and as you burn it, or won't be stored. So you don't get 'fatter' by eating it

Avoid 'low fat' and look up boot camp threads by biwi

I've lost 4 1/2 stone so far

Low carbing rocks!!!Smile

No fruit or alcohol for a fortnight.

Breakfast ....bacon and eggs with mushrooms
Glass water

Lunch ......chicken, avocado and salad
Glass water

Dinner......belly pork, celeriac mash, broccoli
Glass water

Fat and more fat. Lots of water.

Snacks....babybel, pork scratchings, pepperami

Will weigh myself in the morning & see how much I want to lose.

About 3 stone would be lovely.

Eating fat seems wrong! I am gradually coming away from low fat stuff as it was mainly filled with crap. Low fat plain yogurt is good though.

Well done on your 4 and a half stone!

I am having a look at Biwis threads & also a recipe thread.

WireCat - you need to prepare yourself to accept that what you have been told/have been trying to do for the last forever is wrong! Fat does not make you fat. It's carbohydrate that makes you fat.

Full fat yoghurt is the way to go, not low fat. You need to ditch low fat everything!

Thanks for the replies.

I will start this week, probably Wednesday.

I've just had a huge plate of stuffed pasta with pesto & green beans for dinner (the other were having hot dogs, yuk!) & I'm hungry already. Finished my dinner at 7pm FFs & there are enough calories in that to get me through till breakfast.

Am reading through the latest Bootcamp thread & also have the recipe thread open.

My slight worry is the cost of eating so much protein. Although I probably shouldn't have looked at the Waitrose prices today! Wink

WireCat deffo come join us on the bootcamp threads, lots of support on there. I would say that my shop is much cheaper overall as I am not buying half as much stuff as I would usually, so although perhaps individual components seem more expensive because I am not buying bread, biscuits, snacks, fruit, fruit juice, diet drinks etc etc just meat and veg it works out find! There are some brilliant posters who can also provide and suggest cheaper low carb meals (I am not one of them, I am rubbish!) and who are brilliant at hunting out bargains in the reduced sections!

The rest if the family will still need fruit & carbs though.

Anyhow, sod it. I will just get fatter & fatter if I don't do something about my poor eating habits.

Am going to start today.

Breakfast will be scrambled egg & mushrooms. Because that's what I have in! I have no butter so will use oil.

Lunch: tuna mayonnaise with salad and an oily dressing.

Dinner: chicken stir fry.

Could I have a basic list of which veggies to eat & which to avoid.

I have been reading, but it's a lot to take in, so a basic I toro diction would be lovely if anyone has the time.

Am off to weigh & measure myself.

Many thanks.

Avoid diet drinks - they don 't help. if you are hungry have something to eat. make it cheese, double cream, greek yoghurt (full fat), slices of meat or some nuts.

Just drink water for now. Even squashes have citric acid and could increase your blood sugars.

My rule of thumb is that if something is lower than 2% carbs I eat it with abandon, if it is up to 10% carbs I am careful, if it is more than 10% I avoid it totally.

packaged food have all of these percentages on the back. For veg - stick to veges which are grown above the ground.

Avoid fruit unless it is a berry

Eat the fat on your meat and rely on eggs - they are the perfect food

Don't eat margarine or processed oils (olive oil is ok) -have butter and plenty of it.

drink plenty of water and ensure you are getting enough salt.

Thanks doing this... I have a bad egg allergy so they are out but I have done this before and it worked well last time, however last time:-

I was young and was able to exercise/keep myself busy, I've now got 2dc under 3.

I smoked which was a superb appetite suppressant for me.

Freely drank coffee and diet coke.

Not had a diet drink but have had 5 coffee today when hungry with double cream, hope I'm not messing things up by doing this.

Just seen that coke zero has no citric acid...?
