Have lurked on this thread for a while now but ready to kick off. Too late for boot camp but ready to cut the carbs. What mainstays would you recommend aside from basics like eggs, cheese, meat? For breakfast what do most of you have? Eggs seem bit too much faff when trying to get everyone out the door in the morning. Also, I'm an awful snacked, especially this time of night. Instead of junk like crisps or chocolate what could I go for? Thanks.

Hello, thought id give you some of what I had on my first list: avocados, smoked salmon, feta, double cream (for coffee), aspsragus, broccolli, spinach, olives, mayonnaise, tinned fish.

Im a big egg fan, especially for mornings, take less than a minute to cook on the hhob with some butter. Have also discovered the joys of devilled eggs, which you could make up in advance? Good for a snack. Parma wrapped a asparagus is also good for snacks.

Not bootcamp but cream cheese wrapped in ham is a lovely snack

As are miniature mozzarella balls wrapped in basil leaves with black pepper

Boiled eggs- ( in Tupperware or they stink) they last ages in the fridge make five or six on a Sunday and have hard boiled eggs for brekkie ( maybe spread with butter)

I have scrambled eggs and smoked salmon for breakfast in the week- or a hard boiled egg and salmon/ ham and spinach

Chicken wings are a great evening snack

Pate spread in a mini gem lettuce leaf is divine

On your list don't forget alternatives- so cauliflower for rice meals, courgettes/ aubergines for when everyone has pasta, bags of salad for easy quick meals.
Cream, cheese , butter, fruit teas( increase water in take) peruse the dressings aisle- some are lovely and vv low carb, buy some posh really tasty olive oil for dressing your foods. Buy 'treat' veg- asparagus, purple sprouting broccoli, the green spiky cauliflower - having 'luxury' foods makes week 1 easier.

My first week is obviously going to be super expensiveWink but it's worth it. ( I've started today too if you want some companySmile)

Butter-esp the Brittany type with added sea salt. Keep it really cold and eat slivers of it to bump up fat and salt.
I don't like fruit teas, but I do like green and Yogi teas-the choco one is lovely. Twinings do gingerbread green tea too.
Malvern sea salt-it's lovely and extra minerals.
Maile mayonnaise-cheaper than the delouis one and very lc.
Good luck!
