I'm new to low carb WOE and to MFP which counts in cals. How do I either convert the cals into grams (if it can be done) or better still get MFP to do it for me? Any one know? Thanks

what do you mean?
if you google any veg or met you can get cal per 100g
that is the best way to d oit
each morsel of food you eat has calorific values based on carbs, fat and protein

this WOE is not based on calories as such so it would be interesting to learn why you need to calculate them

MFP can give you grams of carbs in each item, just make sure you're using UK items ( rather than generic goods choose the ones from Sainsbos, Tesco or wherever) otherwise you have to subtract the fibre.

Thank you. I've only just realised that the carb counts on MFP are in grams not cals! Blush Now I just have to work out how to get it to give me a realistically low carb target rather than the hundreds it thinks I need. Can you tell I am not very good at this?

You can't convert a calorie into a carb, they are two totally different things!

Why are you bothering with MFP? If you're following Bootcamp you don't need to. That's kind of the point of Bootcamp - to make your life easy! Grin

Biwi you are right. I thought it would help me work out what veg is low in carbohydrate. I think it might have been better to wait for the next BC because there is a lot of information on lots of threads I did not know existed.

you can still join - just put weight in first week's column in this spreadsheet and 0 as weight loss for today Smile

This is the current week's thread:

Don't wait till another one bootcamp!

Everyone posts lots of great ideas for meals each week and I am sure you can find something for you.
