Hi everyone I posted this on the general low carb page too but thought I would post here just to get as many responses as possible, so hope that is ok :)
Breakfast- 2 egg omelette cooked in butter with spinach and mushrooms.
Snack- celery with full fat cream cheese
Lunch- prawn salad with lettuce spinach red onion 1/2 avocado asparagus and drizzled with olive oil.
Snack- almonds
Dinner- Salmon with spinach broccoli cauliflower with butter.
This comes in at 90g fat, 17g carbs and 73g protein with a macro split 69F 25P 6C.
Do I look to be on the right track here?
I know some people do ultra high fat (so macro split of 85F or more) but my issue is I really don't like a lot of very fatty things eg mayonnaise, I've always hated creamy sauces, I was a vegetarian for the first 22 years of my life and still am not a huge fan of red meats which I know are better for low carb due to the high fat content. I once tried a BPC with butter and coconut oil but it made me gag! I have a funny thing with texture lol anything sort of "slimy" (I've always hated smoothies and milkshakes)

So I guess what I'm asking is does it HAVE to be high fat to get good results? I am a member of a facebook group and people seem to wolf down spoonfuls of coconut oil and butter just to get their fats in. Is a macro split of around 70F, 25P and 5C ok or is it really important to up the fat a lot to get the best weight loss results?

Thanks in advance for any info! :)

oh and I love cheese but have seen a lot of people say that too much dairy stalls them so am unsure if the case would be the same for me. I guess its trial and error!

It seems fine - I find nuts stall me but dairy is ok. I don't worry about macros, I might if it stopped working, but I would just keep it simple for now x

Yes it looks good.

I'm like you, I don't hugely like creamy sauces or red meat but my tastes have really changed since starting this. Red meat is now scrummy and I like cream more.

Only thing I would say is it's better not to snack if you can help it. For me, that has meant adding a splosh of double cream to my eggs in the morning as well as cooking them in butter (a lot of people don't count the fat they've cooked stuff in I think) which keeps me full for hours. I do have a snack at tea, but that's more because I'm exhausted at that point in the day and it helps psychologically. I think a mid morning and a mid afternoon snack might be too much for some people. But do what works for you.
