It is possible that the living arrangements for our kids are breaking down and that cafcass will have to get involved to mediate and make the arrangements stick. Does anyone have any experience of cafcass - good/bad/indifferent? what should I expect? Kids are both articulate and opinionated teens!

I only have experience of cafcass with arrangements for a toddler - have just been going to 'extended dispute resolution' mediation with them (case hasn't gone back to court yet). Would guess that they would take quite a lot of notice of what your kids have to say (we had to take our 2 yr old to a session!). Also, they seem quite dogmatic about kids needing both parents. Their website is - www.cafcass.gov.uk.

Have you considered private mediation? It might be worth looking into. You might end up with a more 'tailor-made' solution for your family.
