It's dd's option's meeting next week and ex is coming too. I'm dreading it (it's fair to say we don't really get on) I know he'll suggest picking us up. I'll say we'll meet him there and even worse a senior colleague of mine will be there, I don't want to have to introduce him to her, and I don't want to get caught up in small talk with him eaves dropping.

def meet there. ignore the colleague, unless approached by the colleague, if poss. keep sharp eye out, and keep walking purposefully past and exclaim, 'oh hi', in surprised way if colleague corners you.
