Anyone done the Marks and Spencers training for lone parents scheme ?

They are running one in my local store at the end of feb.

As far as I know it consists of 2 weeks training, help with working out benefits entitlements etc and then sometimes they emply you afterwards.

I posted about it last year but didn't get a place as I think it fills up quite quickly.

Just wondered if anyone has actually done it and if it was any good ?

Wow, this sounds great. Never heard of it, but what a good thing to do. Very philanthropical of them.

ye only do it in certain places i was going to go for it but woul have had 2 travel quite a distance

Well it looks like I might be getting a place on the scheme in June. The next one is March but apparently thats full.

It sounds very good, they offer alot of help before you go into the store and even if you don't end up with a job at the end, they do stuff with you that you can put onto your cv for furture job applications.

I've just been trying to apply for a job with a new M&S store they are opening near me. I haven't heard of this scheme before but I'm finding it impossible to apply. I tried an online app but it rejected me as I can't work nights/early mornings etc, being a single parent. I didn't even get past the 1st page! It didn't even give chance to say what you can work!! Then I tried ringing recruitment line but it's just a recorded message and you can't get through to a real person. If anyone has any ideas......?

I had that problem with their application forms, I could never get past the first few questions.
