Are there any other widows or widowers out there?

I have two children aged almost five and seven and am struggling with the amount of preparation needed for Christmas. The children are exhausted and excited and have all the tantrums that go hand in hand with that. I just need to know I'm not the only one struggling on their own with Christmas and two grouchy children!

Sorry this has gone unanswered. I can't really help you but hopefully someone else will! Don't be afraid to keep bumping this.

i know singleparentdad is a widower, you could try finding him, he is often on the dadsnet section. There is also mummy2TandF who you will find in the bereavement section, sure there are others for helpful support. All the best to you barbie, hope christmas goes ok. x

Hi Barbiehair,

Fairylights is correct, I'm a widower and often on the dadsnet section. I've one boy called Max, he lives up to his name. Christmas is a nightmare. I know my priorities, Max is sorted, but I haven't got anything else! In fact you may well have incited a mild panic attack.

I recently started a blog of our goings-on, pop over and have a look.

And welcome. They're very friendly on here. I'm a newbie myself, and they seem to put up with my constant self-promotion of my blog

Thanks all for coming back to me and apologies for the delay. Just to reinforce what I'm going through my 6 year old son had a poo on my computer chair and decided to sit in it. When is it they can legally leave home?!

hi Barbiehair,
have a look at the WAY foundation (WAY = Widowed And Young). It's a charitable organisation set up for widowed parents and I've heard some excellent reports.

Haidee x

Barbiehair - Sorry for not posting earlier - I did type a really long post the other evening but then my computer crashed on me Fairylights was right again. I lost my darling husband suddenly in August and also have 2 children, mine are now 3yrs and 1yr, I, like you am struggling with Christmas, have only bought for the children so far (well, ordered but not picked up) I just don't want Christmas to happen this year at all but my ds is so excited - Am going to my Mum and Dads for Christmas day, so at least I might be able to get away into the garden or something if I need to ... I am really dreading it but I am sure that we will get through it - after all I have got through the last 16 weeks and I never thought I could do that. Take Care and if you want to chat feel free to CAT me.
