If your ex owes the csa money, and you let him move back in---

What happens? Do you both owe the csa money or do they drop it in the absence of someone to pay it too?

he would still owe them money as it is money that should have been paid while you were spereated.

or at least i would imagine that to be the case.

But they havnt paid me the money, so they arnt out of pocket - if he still owes them the money they would be taking money for thereselves.

the arrears will still be owed, if you are working then they will be paid to you, if you are on benefits they are owed to the secretary of state, you will have to inform the csa if he moves back in as only you can cancel the claim, unless you are on benefits then you have to declare it to the dwp.
